Heartwarming
I thought that this was a lovely read. I’m surprised by the mixed reviews as I did not find it boring and quite honestly enjoyed it all the way to the end.

Heartbreaking
Absolutely great read. Privilege, racism, the American dream, generational wealth. It’s a slow simmer then hits you in the gut at the end.

Not for me
I do t get the hype with this, I’m afraid. I spent lots of it thinking, someone just tell her what happened and let us be over with it. Felt the performance was a bit melodramatic in places. I didn’t really bond with many of the characters. Disregarded the twist for being too obvious. They are better books out there to listen to.

WOW WOW WOW
**spoiler alert**
I loved the little addition of the fairytales, sort of a foreshadowing into what happened.
The fact she got to say her goodbyes, and she was forgiven.
The way her mind put everything back together, and figured it out on her own.
Amazing, I want this to become a film.

Adequate
It's easy for twist based stories to feel pretty much pointless up to the point where the twist takes place. SPOILER, hard to sympathize with a character you think should end up in jail.
