Summary
No.1 bestselling author Gill Sims is back with her eagerly awaited fourth Why Mummy novel.
I just wanted them to stop wittering at me, eat vegetables without complaining, let me go to the loo in peace and learn to make a decent gin and tonic.
Mummy has been a wife and mother for so long that she’s a little bit lost. And despite her best efforts, her precious moppets still don’t know the location of the laundry basket, the difference between being bored and being hungry, or that saying ‘I can’t find it Mummy’ is not the same as actually looking for it!
Amidst the chaos of A-Levels and driving tests, she’s doing her best to keep her family afloat, even if everybody is set on drifting off in different directions, and that one of those directions is to make yet another bloody snack. She’s feeling overwhelmed and under appreciated, and the only thing that Mummy knows for sure is that the bigger the kids, the bigger the drink.

Excellent series of books!
I love these books, they are so well written. I also love the performance by Gabrielle Glaister.
This is a great conclusion to the series but I am hoping that Gill Sims has a change of heart and writes another one because they are fab.
If you are thinking about listening to this one without the others, that’s just crazy. Listen to the whole series. You won’t regret it.

Another brilliant funny honest look at family life
I love this series of books & have recommended to all the family even my husband. I have recommended to friends & work colleagues in fact anyone I meet who has a sense of humour. I had preordered & was not disappointed. Now I have to wait for the next but will be going back to the beginning to listen to the first one while I wait.

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE 5TH BOOK ON 26/10/23
***UPDATE: "WHY MUMMY DRINKS AT CHRISTMAS" THE 5TH BOOK IS BEING RELEASED ON 26TH OCTOBER 2023 ~ REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!***
I have listened to all 4 books straight after one another and I have found them all funny and believable.
I absolutely LOVED how Ellen never pandered to the kids rude demands as my husband and I also never pandered to our children ~ you can be loving, caring supportive parents without giving into tantrums that would just make them brats!
This book was meant to be funny and it delivered AGAIN!
I am going to miss listening to these fab four books by gill Sims and narrated by the brilliant Gabrielle Glaister. Totally worth the credit and the £2.99 sale.
Anyone with kids can totally relate to how you love and want your children but they can be challenging and very spirited, so if you want to laugh out loud then this book is for you and I recommend listening to all four books

Why Mummy's Brilliant - as always!
After binge-listening the other Mummy books (again) prior to listening to the finale I couldn't wait to find out how Ellen's life would turn out. I wasn't disappointed. Edward, the neighbour, Louisa, Marissa, Peter, Jane, Barry and, of course, Judgy had me LOL- ing and making my husband and kids raise questioning brows. I told them that they wouldn't understand. Only very busy and important Mummies would be clever enough to understand such words of wisdom. Thank you Gill for a fabulous series. You deserve much wine & many G&T's.
