About this listen
From the internationally best-selling author of The Simple Wild comes the continuation of a woman's journey to Alaska and a life she never imagined for herself.
Calla Fletcher returns to Toronto a different person, struggling to find direction and still very much in love with the rugged bush pilot she left behind. When Jonah arrives on her doorstep with a proposition she can't dismiss, she takes the leap and rushes back to Alaska to begin their exciting future together.
But Calla soon learns that even the best intentions can lead to broken promises, and that compromise comes with a hefty price - a log cabin in rural Alaska that feels as isolating as the western tundra.
With Jonah gone more than he's home, one neighbor who insists on transforming her into a true Alaskan, and another who seems more likely to shoot her than come to her aid, Calla grapples with forging her own path. In a world with roaming wildlife that has her constantly watching over her shoulder and harsh conditions that stretch far beyond the cold, dark, winter months, just stepping outside her front door can be daunting.
This is not the future Calla had in mind, leaving her to fear that perhaps she is doomed to follow in her mother's fleeing footsteps after all.

BOOK 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Loved the second book it was so great to continue showing how they where different to her parents.
I loved how she overcome a new area and adjusted. I felt like we needed more interactions with her and Jonah though.
Loved the ending though and looking forward to reading the last book.

Easy listen
Really enjoyed this book, part 2 of the series. Had it completed in a little over 24hrs, lots of hooks. Reshreshing that the characters speak their minds and there isn't the standard split up to get back together again like most books if this type.

enjoyed it, good conclusion
I really enjoyed the conclusion of this novel, however I do not think it is as good and magical as the first one.

Just what we needed
These two just have my heart!!
I really had no idea where Calla and Jonah's story could be going. Initially, I thought they could be going down the same road as Calla's parents but every time something started taking a very similar route they would nip it in the bud.
Calla takes the leap and moves to Alaska, living in the middle of nowhere with her cowboy pilot Jonah. Plus a goat and raccoon. Then a bear. Oh and two-hybrid wolf dogs. Obviously not what she expected her new life to be but one she wouldn't change for the world. Calla and Jonah have their road bumps and there are some really on edge moments throughout. Old characters come back into the picture and new characters make their mark, especially Roy who probably becomes one of my favourite characters next to Zeke.
Why I held off on this series for so long is beyond me.
