About this listen
Penguin Audiobooks presents Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan. An unabridged recording voiced by MacLeod Andrews and Nick Podehl.
One cold night, in a most unlikely corner of Chicago, teenager Will Grayson crosses paths with . . . Will Grayson! Two teens with the same name who run in two very different circles suddenly find their lives going in new and unexpected directions.
Culminating in epic turns-of-heart on both of their parts, they team up to produce the most fabulous musical ever to grace the high-school stage. Told in alternating voices from two award-winning, popular names in young-adult fiction - John Green (author of The Fault in Our Stars) and David Levithan (author of Boy Meets Boy) - this unique collaborative novel features a double helping of the heart and humour that has won both authors legions of fans.
** John Green has a huge online presence through his 1.1 million Twitter followers and YouTube channel Vlogbrothers, which has been viewed over 200 million times and has 660,000 subscribers, making it one of the most successful online channels in history.

Life affirming stuff. Incredible characters brought to life with fantastic narration.
I haven't listened to or read a piece of fiction before that has created such a vivid image in my mind. I know these characters and I missed them as soon as it finished.
A perfect story about friendships, relationships, love and truth that goes far beyond the teen genre.

Great Little Book
This was a lovely story and I love to read a book that covers the LGBT+ world with such a laid back, confident and normalized approach. LGBT+ people have other issues in their lives than just being LGBT+!! They have mental health issues and relationship problems and friendship situations and many many other stories, so its amazing to read one of them.
And David Levithan is one of my favourite authors! xxx

Average, Unusual but sadly not Awesome
Excellent narration. I found it difficult to empathise with the characters who are all self centered teenagers. This audio books may appeal more to teens/ young adults. It was all too trivial to be fully engaging.

Excellent book but perhaps for a younger audience
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Not exactly. It was a well written story but maybe not for me.
What did you like best about this story?
The narration was excellent by both readers
Have you listened to any of MacLeod Andrews and Nick Podehl ’s other performances? How does this one compare?
No
Did Will Grayson, Will Grayson inspire you to do anything?
Not really
Any additional comments?
I think I would have given this book 5 stars had a read it 10 or 15 years ago but now I'm a bit older (31) I felt it was just too young for me. To be more precise the characters are teenagers and view the world from this perspective which I found a little immature and annoying at times. Don't get me wrong I love a bit of Glee I just think I personally have grown out of high school musical-type narratives.

Amazing! It was a little weird having half of the book read to me by Chucky from the rugrats dad...

Insightful and sensitive
I think that this is a smart collaboration between two excellent authors.
I connected with both of the characters and loved how they grew throughout the novel.
The ending is touching in an insightful way, looking at how their relationships develop with their own personal growth. Both characters' eventual acknowledgment of their impact on others is what makes this book.

Teens at their most angsty
For teen and teen-friendly listeners, this title really hits the angst on the head. At one point, one of the characters even cries "I didn't ask to be born!"
I liked the way two perspectives alternate throughout the book, as the two stories intertwine. The characters come across as tortured in a way that perhaps only middle-class teens can feel. The melodrama is serious, at least to them, and this draws you into the story. There's also some OTT showtunes-style singing, which is highly amusing.
Recommended for fans of both authors' other work, including The Fault In Our Stars and Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, as well as other similar titles such as Eleanor & Park.
