About this listen
Do you want to learn how to manage bipolar disorder?
Sam has bipolar 1. After years of turmoil, he discovered the steps he needed to take to overcome this hurdle. In this book, he draws from his personal experience with bipolar and his work in the mental health field to help you:
- Understand what bipolar is
- Know how to approach therapy
- Learn strategies that can keep you well
- Become consistent in your approach to recovery
Whether you have bipolar, know someone who does, or you're a mental health professional, this book will help you see that there is light, even when things feel hopeless, and give you the tools you need to win the war with bipolar.
About the author
Sam sees mental illness from three different angles. First, as an academic, working toward a PhD in psychology at King's College London, where his focus is on improving treatment options for people with bipolar disorder. Second, as a mental health worker who's spent time working one-on-one with patients. And third, as a bipolar sufferer himself.
He's gone from someone who couldn’t leave the house to someone who helps others get their confidence back so they can play a part in society. From someone who hated himself, to someone who accepts who he is and loves life. From someone who couldn’t read a single page, to the person who wrote the book you're going to listen to.

Informative and engaging insight into living with Bipolar
I found this book after listening to an interview with Sam on BipolarUK podcast.
Sam’s words are research based and/or from his personal lives experience of living with bipolar.
The book is well structured, engaging and easy to follow.
I live with bipolar too and found this book to be so helpful that I bought the paper copy too. The paper copy allows me to easily scan and take notes on the symptoms of bipolar plus the templates that Sam gives for a Therapy Blueprint and a Relapse Prevention Plan.
The audiobook is read by Sam himself which adds an extra personal dimension to his words.
I’m glad I bought both the audio and paper copy of this book. However there is everything in the audio book you need.

Offers fundamental insights for overcoming bipolar. Also confirms some things I had thought of but not had the context to prioritise and pursue. Let's hope it helps

Amazing book
This is a very professional book with simple words, which can be easily understood and I think this is important for someone who doesn’t have a deep understanding of this mental disorder. Also, it is encouraging that someone has a great passion in helping people with serious mental health issues.
