Summary
Stoicism is an active philosophy. That means that it is not enough to know its doctrines; one must also live them and develop habits that expand on and complete their ideas in practice. Practice, therefore, is also the focus of this audiobook, as well as the development of the listener’s inner and outer lives, that they may follow their own path and discover what it means to “live life in accordance with nature”.
You will discover Stoicism and how to apply it.
The audiobook includes a general introduction to Stoicism that pulls no punches when faced with the more complex aspects of Stoic doctrine.
Topics addressed include:
- The history of the ancient Stoics.
- The nature of good and evil, virtue and vice, and positive and negative externals.
- The difference between those things in our control and those things not in our control.
- Stoic logic and practical reasoning.
- Stoicism’s role in the development of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
- Stoic exercises and daily practice.
- Theology’s role in Stoicism and Stoic cosmology.
Also included in the bundle is an audiobook titled Daily Stoic Journal on Meditation, Stoicism, Wisdom and Philosophy to Improve Your Life.
The audiobook is a collection of Stoic sayings organized to allow daily reference and inspiration.
Including quotes from:
- Marcus Aurelius
- Seneca
- Epictetus
- And much more.
The Stoic advice covered in this volume runs the gambit from personal problems, to interpersonal relationships, to advice on work and productivity, to dealing with the hand of fate. Meditations in this audiobook are split up by seasons. There are meditations for each season, covering the four seasons.
Face the world with a new light with the help of these immortal thinkers and learn both to conquer yourself and to come to terms with those things you cannot control. Get your hands on this amazing Stoicism collection and bundle of ancient Greek philosophy!

excellent daily reminder
It was an excellent daily reminder of how to properly view the world and served as a nice primer to Stoic thought. This book is probably meant for people who have never encountered Stoicism and would be a good start, but not for people already working towards Stoicism. Readers would do better to listen to and meditate from a stoic instead. It is completely based on practical understandings and tools we can adopt to live better lives. A fantastic, inspirational and concise, this book is the perfect way of absorbing and putting into practice the teachings of some of the greatest philosophers to have lived.

a great book for meditation
This was a really good collection of quotes from Stoic philosophers such as Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, and Epictetus and daily meditations. A lot of developmental books and it's nice to see where more modern thinkers and authors take some of their ideas and inspirations from. The Daily Stoic is an exercise guide, not a history of Stoicism. Its goal is to help you understand the three disciplines - perception, action, and will - and apply lessons from each to your life. Stoicism contains hundreds of lessons about how to live well, and modern summaries can be difficult to remember and apply them all.

ability to understand, following the facts
Getting the facts about the physical and social world we inhabit, and the facts about our situation in it before we deliberate about normative matters. It means facing those facts-accepting them for exactly what they are, no more and no less - before we draw normative conclusions from them.

following our human nature
When it comes on my mind after listening in this audio-book following our human nature; what more comes on my mind is the fat-cat thing that the whole ideas were reacts and bass in our surroundings. Natural to find defining traits to human character and conduct, but it is equally to find a significant number of exceptions.

expanding knowledgeable thing
Even more pressing questions are raised when we face our own human realm, with the long and still expanding record of genocide and atrocity and the manslaughter that followed. These are major challenges for the Ancient stoic view of the world as rational and essentially good being.

personality appear to nature
According to the Ancient Stoics, nature was by definition good and everything which was conformable to nature was deemed good. "Following Nature" is the principle of the Ancient stoics put forward questionable that in order to live good life, one needed to live consistently with nature.

behavior accord with nature
The stoics thought the best indication of an individual's philosophy was not what person said, but how a person behaved. Id rather to listen and continue amazed by this audio-book than to enroll in a leadership program that even the host will not rest assured of his/her behavior attitudes.

forms of stoic tradition
One of the major founding approaches to western virtue ethics, the stoics also held that certain destructive emotions resulted from errors of judgement, and they believed people should aim to maintain a will.I felt the indestructibly moments while listening with this audio-book. its a fat-cat intelligence we've got.
