Excellent continutation, full of magic.

Not designed to be read without its predecessor, it follows on from Morrigan Crow's initial introduction to Nevermoor. Having passed her trials and allowed into the Wundrous Society, knowing her 'knack' (her power), Morrigan is looking forward to learning how to control her abilities and making lifelong friends. But of course, things are never that easy, and enemies with hidden agendas start interfering in her ambitions, threatening trouble.

I thought of Harry Potter as the Wundrous students began their lessons, but there is little similarity to any popular series. It was great to revisit Morrigan and her friends, and imagine a world of magic with the story advancing into Morrigan's training.

All the characters you'll remember liking in Nevermoor are back, we don't really get any development in any apart from Morrigan herself, the story moves along and they react to what is going on, with mysteries and a deeper view of her new world.

I listened to the Audible version of this, which was very enjoyable and easy to keep up with, with the adult narrator suiting the teenage protagonist, I didn't consider her voice as too old, she voiced the range of young and older characters smoothly.

The story ends with plenty of scope for a longer series, and I might be keeping up with them.

With thanks to Nudge Books for providing a sample Audible copy.

Hold onto your hats folks and make sure your ready for an exciting journey.

Wow what a fantastic second book in this amazing series. A lot of the things introduced to us in the first book were filled in giving us more of an understanding of the world and now it feels like the foundations have now been built and things are about to ramp up even more. I love the author’s engaging style giving us excitement while hooking us in making us want more. Can’t wait to continue this journey with this amazing group of characters. Again the audio book braught this world to life. I can’t wait for more in this amazing series. It truly deserves the hype it is receiving. We have another talented author here and i feel this series will get even more exciting as books progress.

Narration brilliance

Fantastic book from start to finish, after reading book 1 the story continues to grow with much more in-depth character exploring and delving deep into Morgan’s power and struggles as a Wundersmith!

However, the best part of this book for me really was the narration, Gemma Whelan made my experience with her voices, attention to detail, and delivery! First Class!

Highly recommended

Part 2 of Morrigan's story, which began in Nevermoor, entirely lives up to expectations. It's original, exciting, atmospheric, funny at times... the perfect mix for all the family to enjoy together. And pretty satisfying for lone adults, too. Gemma Whelan's reading is truly excellent. I see that a fourth part is now at the pre-order stage, which is great news - there is so much in Morrigan's world to discover. For now, it's on to part 3, Hollowpox.

Magically Brilliant

This story is addictive. I wasn't able to stop. I think my favourite scene was when Morrigan met Onstald for the first time. I laugh out loud. Love this story. I liked the narrator but I imagined Jupiter's voice a little different, not so stern.
