Summary

On October 15, everyone in the world vanished. Well, almost everyone. Some were left behind, attempting to piece together what happened, find their loved ones, and survive. But they are not alone.

Season Two picks up where Season One left off. One man finds himself on a mysterious island that holds secrets, and perhaps even answers, to what happened on October 15. A group finds itself taking refuge at The Sanctuary, a religious compound with an enigmatic leader called The Prophet. A serial killer finds himself leading an unlikely group of survivors. A young man searches to prove himself to his group, and avoid being bullied ever again. A young child is called to perform another miracle at great personal cost. Every decision. Every action. Every dream. Every alliance. Every secret. Every betrayal.

It all comes down to this - the stunning season two finale that will have you on the edge of your seat - and then knock you to the floor with the most insane, most WTF?!-unforgettable season finale yet!

Disappointing

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and couldn't wait for what i thought was the concluding second book, well i finished the second book and was disappointed, the fresh writing had gone there's no fluency and my fear is Yesterday's Gone will continue much the same as the tv series Lost did, lost and incoherent.
I shall not listen to the rest.

Why ever did I buy this?

When I read part one of this series, I thought it was terrible. An unconvincing post-apocalyptic tale told in tired, cliche-ridden writing. And yet... something about it drew me in and, when I'd finished the first part, I did find myself wanting to read the second. I really don't know why -- I guess it's a bit like ordering a pizza that's too big, and feeling that you have to eat the whole thing.

This volume is no better. The characters are no more compelling, the story no more original, and the writing still full of worn-out cliches. Still, I read (listened) right up to the last word; again, for no reasons I am able to explain. There's really nothing about this book I would make me recommend it -- as a literary endeavour it fails in just about every conceivable way. But, for some reason, it still got me hooked.

I've just discovered that there are a gazillion further parts to the series, so I think it's time to break whatever hold it has over me, and move on to something else. After all, you might be able to squeeze in that huge pizza but, when you've finished, you're going to wish you hadn't. So I'm quitting while I'm ahead.

Enjoying narration Although haven't clue what's go

shame it's been broken down by audio books to maximise profit, on season 2 now, I don't think I will bother to buy anymore. as multiple seasons.

Brilliant Continuation of a Good Story

Where does Yesterday's Gone: Season 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Great character development and a strong story, performed by excellent actors makes this a great continuation of the "Yesterday;'s Gone saga.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I am only familiar with a few of the narrators but each one did an excellent job making the characters both believable and accessible.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Addicted.

What made the experience of listening to Yesterday's Gone: Season 2 the most enjoyable?

Finding out it was even better than series one, which I didn't think could be possible!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mary because she reminds me of me.

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favourite?

Luka, I just love the way the narrator manages to bring out the 8 year old boy in an adults body!

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Trust no-one.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait for season 3!!!

Voice Continuity’s Gone!

It was good until 10 hours in and the voices got completely ridiculous. Kind characters suddenly given evil voices. Totally ruined it for me.

Stop at season 3 !!!!!

Spoilers !!!
Writing this to save you the effort of realising the series seriously jumps the shark after season 3.
Season 1 was really good.
Season 2 was a worthy sequel.
Season 3 explained enough to satisfy and to my mind was a good end point story wise.
Season 4...hmmmm, starting to drag and contradict several elements of the first 3 seasons.
Season 5... this is getting silly and when did Desmond become Agent Smith from the Matrix ?
Season 6... what the hell am i listening too ?.....it practically rewrites all of the plot points of the previous seasons, the characters drop several I.Q points almost over night.
It set up plot points only to totally ignore them only paragraphs later and never return to them.
example: They discover that the aliens can shape shift and adopt the appearence of anyone (OK its The Thing's storyline) ....but at no point do the charaters feel it worth mentioning to the rest of the resistance ??????
also i never really worked out if this was an alien story or a spiritual story. seemed to flit between the two concepts.

I'm writting this review becasue i think the sense of disapointment i got. As mentioned, the first books are really very good but its almost like the authors got bored and started writting a different story.

I would say that the performances were brilliant and i must admit that although i didnt like how the series went it did have probably one of the best characters of any story i've ever read/heard. Borecio Wolfe is just brilliant and his language was absolutely amazing, had me laughing out loud several times.

in summary, stop at season 3....maybe season 4 but seriously dont waste your time with the last two seasons....they will just make you angry.

Different narrators sometimes throw me

Having different narrators for chapters is good until they do each others voices. Really throws you in the story.
That aside a fantastically unilabs take on the usual zombie genre. More sci-fi-esque.
