About this listen
When the four partners of a prominent law firm are killed in a mysterious plane crash, their widows must come together to uncover the truth in this explosive, edge-of-your-seat novel.
It’s 1985 in Providence, Rhode Island, and the four partners of a prominent, mafia-affiliated law firm have been killed in a private jet that went down outside New York City. Four very different women have just lost the loves of their lives: Justine, a former fashion model adjusting to suburban life; Camille, a beautiful, young second wife some suspect is a gold digger; Krystle, committed to leaving the firm to her sons after her husband worked his whole life to support them all; and Meredith, a stripper at the local club who was in a secret relationship with the firm’s sole female partner. While the crash is initially ruled a tragic accident, something’s not adding up: The team wasn’t supposed to be in New York that day, and it’s soon revealed that there was a very large sum of cash that burned up with the plane. The women find themselves thrown together in search of the truth, with new danger and threats unfolding at every turn.
Could a dissatisfied client be seeking revenge? Or were the partners involved in something bigger—something dangerous and deadly? What other secrets were the partners keeping, and how far might people go to ensure they stay hidden? The widows must find the answers in order to protect their inheritance, their families, and their lives.

Easy Listen
As someone who doesn’t normally listen to fiction and is trying to find their niche, I enjoyed this. I don’t believe it’s my style but I enjoyed the different readings and the story gradually got more interesting.

Young rich widows
Actually enjoyed listening to the book. Was intrigued by the storyline and the challenges that the women went through. The narrations were easy to follow and was always wondering what's next. Would recommend the book for a leisurely read.

Cohorting with Concubines and Co-Conspirators
Interesting well done four part narration, giving each widow a voice. The mixed reviews made me not expect the clever, funny, but terrifying premise re-enacted and dramatized to make a thrilling tale.
Loved Shirley Conran's Savages (where the wives of murdered executives survive being castaway in a boat, then on an island for months in hiding to evade their husband's killers, surviving illness and canabalism. Shocking ending, with one of the best last lines in literature lol). Thought this might be similar and have enjoyed the ride.
Thanks Audible for the freebee.

Loved this story!
Loved this, totally light hearted and the characters were brilliant! Considering it was a free listen you can’t go wrong. I tend to avoid multiple narrators as I get quite confused lol but it was brilliant and well executed!

Finished in a day!
Loved this audiobook, literally finished it in a day because I enjoyed it so much. The book is written from the perspective of the four different characters. By the end of the book, each character had grown on me so much it felt so sad to have leave them behind when I finished the story.
