Private Investigator Richard "Bigg Dick" Bigg, while taking a break from a dead-end Las Vegas suicide case of a lover and ex-Vegas girl, attends a private Nine-Ball tournament on the Mogollon Rim in northern Arizona. A fellow competitor is shot and plunges a thousand feet over the rim to his death, and longtime friend JC Forkner is charged with the murder. Dick must prove JC's innocence and runs into another dead-end case.

Juan hires Private Investigator/Bounty Hunter (and novice pool player) Richard “Big Dick” Bigg to find and bring back (dead or alive) his second kidnapped wife. Juan’s first wife was kidnapped four years earlier and died in a house that exploded as the FBI closed in.
