Truly awful narration

I love the book to read for myself but this narration is dreadful. I had to delete it from my kindle. Don't waste your money on this version.

Dreadful narration

As soon as I started listening to this I knew I couldn’t carry on. I like a Regency book to be read in an English accent and the correct English pronunciation. I hated the American narration and I loathed the tinny music playing in the background. It is dreadful. I would have returned it but I can’t find out how!

Powder and Patch

The choice of reader is inappropriate for a very English story, and not improved by the constant and irritating background tinkling. I love Heyer’s books but I couldn’t finish this one.

Poor quality

Really poor recording, the sound quality dreadful really fuzzy only listened to the first short section before I gave up. Listen and read to lots of other stories from this author but haven't used this voice over production before.

not worth it!

I have been particularly collecting Georgette Heyer and other audio titles for year and this is absolutely the WORST audio book I have ever had the misfortune to buy.
The readers voice is monotonous and totally lacking in any inflection or characterisation. I'm sorry i didn't ask for a refund within the time frame. The nexus or BBC audio books are the best

Absolutely dreadful reading

I enjoyed reading the Kindle book, but this audible reading is absolutely awful. I cannot understand how anyone could consider that this was an acceptable reading of a Georgette Heyer novel.

Dreadful

The narrator's performance is abysmal, I cannot work out how to delete this waste of money, and my echo Alexa insists on reading this one instead of the excellent edition narrated by Jamie Glover.

Don't buy this version

It's cheap for a reason - the amateurish American narration makes it impossible to listen to and out of context for a very English story.

Awful

Should not be allowed. Stilted narration with pauses in the wrong places and Muzak! What are you thinking?
