Just the right mix of crime and passion!
Thank you to Connor Brown for providing me with a free audiobook in return for an honest review.
The Handyman is a perfect mix of crime and passion, split into a mini-series. The voice of the story, Vic, is an author who is starting to get sick of the rejection letters that he keeps getting every time he submits a story. The only feedback he ever receives is that he needs to get some experience in the fields he writes in so that he can talk with a little more knowledge…the only issue is, Vic is a murder mystery writer. But the perfect opportunities for experience begin to arise and Vic can’t resist the temptation to seize them.
I’ve never read a story like this, The story of an author writing a story about his experience is quite chilling when considering what it is he is writing about.
Not one of the characters in this book was perfect. Each one had their own flaws that made them very real and for each one, I would question their reliability or motives.
The twist in the final story was fantastic and I did not see it coming, I would be very interested in reading the next season of this to find out what happens next.
Connor Brown, the narrator was absolutely fantastic! His voice had a real edge to it, especially when discussing steamy or detailed topics that just kept me hooked. He really delved into the story and made it seem really real.
Some parts did seem a little unrealistic to me, I think the police were mentioned once or twice in this season but there didn’t actually seem to be any investigations or questions when people were murdered and an author released some very similar stories, perhaps the next season will focus on Vic’s alibis and how he copes when things start to point towards him.

Intriguing serial!
How do you inspire a rejected author? Vincent Zandri has a series of 3 stories that let's us know just that! Vic has had some difficulty writing lately. As a mystery writer, he needs some inspiration. And Zandri provides us with a tale of intrigue, steam filled scenes and cold blooded murder with a twist you will not see coming. I was intrigued from the start, wanting to like some of the characters, but finding myself more curious to see what was going to happen. It's twisted and hot and completely surprising. It's one of those books you just have to finish. Loved it!
Connor Brown does an amazing job with the narration of this book. It has a variety of characters, and he pulls each one out and makes them come alive, especially with Vic. Talk about finding the perfect voice, he nails him with both confidence and surprise. He is very entertaining.

Phenomenal
The first season of the Handyman is a perfect balance of passion, intensity, crime, and suspense. The premises for the storyline is pretty intriguing. The characters are well-developed, engaging, and far from perfect, particularly Vic, an inspiring but rejected author. When the opportunity arises, Vic decides to take an unconventional but chilling approach to write his mystery thrillers. The composed material is based on his own experiences, it's quite shocking when factoring what those experiences are.
Outstanding narration by Connor Brown. He hones on the characters, capturing the personalities and emotions, bringing the entirety of the book to life. Overall this was a brilliantly written story with dark and steamy elements, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Better than I initially thought
Handyman series 1.
20 minutes in and my initial thoughts were I'm not going to finish this.
But Andrew.B Wehrien is a superb narrator whose light jockular style always makes easy listening.
By about the 1 hour stage I was hooked.

The Handyman : season 1
Loved listening to the audiobook, the story was well written and the characters were interesting. Stella and Victor are a couple living together, Victor is a writer that does not seem to write a book yet. The twists and turns, hot and steamy, lust/passion, and a lot of emotions. The book was a quick read but worth it.
The narrator was clearly spoken and easy to understand.
