Summary

Sometimes there is only a pole between survival and starvation. For Jessica Hughes, this is her reality.

At 21, she’s single-handedly supporting her two younger brothers and her four-year-old daughter while paying off her deadbeat mother's gambling debts.

Her life may seem like crap to others, but Jess knows it could be worse.

Then, Hunter O'Shea walks back into her life and drops a bombshell - a secret that could destroy everything they once had.

Once again, Jess finds herself picking up the pieces of her broken heart.

Will Hunter find the courage to claim the family he never knew he needed?

Or will Jess move on before he gets the chance?

The Secrets of Life

The Secrets of Life is book 1 in the Working Girls series and is a look into the life of Jessica who becomes a pole dancer to support not only the daughter she had at 16, but her 2 brothers, filling in for her drunken dead beat mum...when Hunter her past comes back into her life she bravely faces it head on as she does in all things..loved this book, great story . Teresa-May Whittaker is a new narrator to me, but she did an amazing job..loved it

Dust in the air

There may have been a little dust in the air as I read some of this book. Just such a strong and independent lead character doing the very best she can to survive and keep everyone else alive.

I absolutely loved this book and would be very interested in seeing where the next book in the series goes. Beautifully written and narrated.
