Mother of three Elaine Hogan is the author of The Frazzled Parent. Her work is dedicated to providing information and support to parents, caregivers and teachers of children with ADD/ADHD, with the view to providing the skills and understanding those children need to approach life with independence and confidence. Elaine’s three sons, all born in the same year, have varying degrees of ADD/ADHD. As a stay-at-home mom, she made it her mission to become an expert on ADD/ADHD in order to make sure that all her children would reach adulthood with the skills they need to be successful, happy, and independent. She has undertaken extensive research and consulted with a variety of experts, as well as other parents, to broaden her understanding of the experiences common to families navigating ADD/ADHD. One of Elaine’s sons in particular is greatly affected by the condition, and through her experience of caring for him and talking to other parents, she’s acutely aware of how challenging life can be, not only for the child, but for the family as well. She’s committed to educating more people about the condition, and helping parents and caregivers learn how to equip their children with the life skills they need – at the same time as taking time for themselves and the rest of their family. Elaine dedicates much of her free time to supporting parents and school staff in their quest to understand ADD/ADHD. She also loves spending time with her family, travelling, and particularly enjoys the challenge of finding new activities they can all appreciate together.
