A Siren’s call… to murder
Former Met police officer Jodie ‘Nosey’ Parker is working a trial period as an auxiliary Detective Sergeant with the Penstowan police force. But living and working alongside DCI Nathan Withers – while still trying to grow her catering company – brings its own challenges, especially when Jodie’s attention is quickly taken up by the suspicious drowning of a local fisherman.
While tourists and locals alike are falling under the spell of the annual mermaid festival with its captivating legends of Sirens luring fishermen to their deaths, Jodie and Nathan fear they may have found themselves in the middle of a very real – and very dangerous – turf war. As the casualties start to stack up, they must face the likelihood that something sinister has been going on under their noses for some time…
‘An absolute gem… Leitch’s characters are as engaging and clever as the mystery she’s concocted’ Lauren Forry, author of The Launch Party
‘Fiona Leitch is on fine form with this wry, twisty tale from the Cornish coast’ M.H. Eccleston, author of The Trust

another great read
I got a little confused with the discussion of all the burner phones..but it had a great twist in the end.

Brilliant
Yet another trip to visit friends in Cornwall. This really needs to be made into an episodic drama like DIP etc. I'd love to see the casting for this.

Good series
I do enjoy this series but I wish the writer could get her geography right. If she insists on mentioning Barnstaple (market town on the North coast of Devon) and Exeter (Devon’s city) then set it in Devon. It must be my age that this irritates me! Plymouth is the nearest city to Cornwall and Barnstaple is nowhere near. Barnstaple CID going to Cornwall - it’s just so silly. It’s in all the books. She has an obsession with Barnstaple.

I adore the 'A Nosey Parker Mystery' series
Zara Ramm is an absolute delight to listen to. Her performance is fantastic. The characters are brought to life in this wonderful world that Fiona Leitch has created. Everytime there is a new book I binge it in one-two days. Love the characters and there relationships. The nan and daughter are amazing. I really hope the series continues for many, many more books!

Not the best one
Didn’t enjoy as much as the others. The ending /reveal could have been better and less virtue signaling. Would prefer this genre to stay away from current political issues and keep it light.

Yikes, PC.
I absolutely love the stories of Jodie, her family and the Cornish goings on but all of a sudden, towards the end, we hit Wokesville and Political Correctness......noooo.
From teenagers banging the environment drum, to a drag queen, token foreign police recruits, illegal immigrants, married couples not taking surnames and horror of all horrors silent fireworks! At least we avoided face masks and jab pushing but did someone hijack Fiona?!
