Summary

I've seen every square inch of Violet Eatons delectable body, and she has no idea who I am. Until now. What happened between us online, in our chats, was meant to stay anonymous and in the past. Until it didn't.

It's a small world, but Ruby Creek is even smaller. When I move to the tiny town, the grumpy façade I've created slips when we're forced to live under the same roof. Every flush of her cheeks, every time her eyes flare with heat, every time she begs me not to stop, the ice I've encased myself in melts. She has me wanting things I can't want. Things I've been dreaming about since I first laid eyes on her two years ago. Things I don't deserve.

But my invisible wounds have the power to ruin us both. As a former soldier, I should have the discipline to walk away, but the more I open up to Violet, the more I want to keep her. I came back from the war a different man, but my scars are older and deeper than anyone knows, and I planned to keep it that way. I planned to keep my secrets hidden. Until her.

Love Violet & Cole's story ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved Billie & Vaughn's story in the first book in this series, and listening to Violet & Cole's story straight afterwards has been joyous!!
Lots of humour, lots of romance and lots of spice too!!
Elsie Silver's writing is amazingly descriptive, and is brilliantly enhanced by fantastic narration, from two very skilled narrators.
Can't wait for more in this excellent series!

Top 5 Elsie Silver books

Cole Harding is a man of few words but my god he is among my top 5 Elsie Silver men!

This might honestly be one of the few second chance romances I can get behind.

Connor Crais and Vanessa Edwin were honestly the perfect choices for Cole and Violet and I was obsessed!

Cole and Violet ❤️❤️

Audiobook Review:

I read this book last year and was a five-star read for me.

The audio book just made it so much better it was perfectly perfectly cast!!!

Connor Crais was the perfect Cole 😍 he brought all the growlyness and grumpiness.

Vanessa Edwin has the most beautiful voice that delivers a flirty sweetness and then has power behind when needing to be.

The text conversation in duet was amazing!!

Such a beautiful book!

I have loved every Elsie Silver book I have read and this was no exception - I listened to it in one day and ignored everyone at home! Cole and Violet’s story was perfect, as was the narration. I will autobuy anything this author writes!

Violet Eaton!!

Loved getting to see more of Violet Eaton after reading the Chesnut Springs series! Absolutely loved the sunshine x grumpy trope and the forced proximity when Violet had to move in with Cole.

The tension and the angst between them is so good! The way they try to hate each other but they can’t escape the history they have with each other (a year long online relationship that ended and they didn’t speak again) and they end up falling for each other all over again.
So fun to listen to on audio!

Cole being this grumpy man that is only soft for his two girls (Violet and her horse), he truly just wants to take care of Violet. Although I liked Billie and Vaughn I definitely preferred Cole and Violet. All the lil mentions of the Eaton brothers and Harvey made me smile so much!

Wish I’d discovered the Gold Rush Ranch series sooner!
