Summary

If you are a woman with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), you've probably known - all your life - that you're different. I might be missing the point.

I might be missing the point from a cultural perspective. This feels very American with an attitude that everyone needs a cheerleader, giving standing ovations and shouting great job at the smallest achievement. I find it a little bit patronising. If someone is looking for reassuring pats on the head and a there, there, you can do it sort of thing, then this book would do the trick. I am a very independent woman looking for something other than this. No disrespect to the amount of work that has clearly gone into this book, but the tone of it doesn't quite work for me. Maybe great for someone setting out on this journey earlier in life. I am in my 40's. Thank you for the book though, it is great to see more books about this out there.

Helpful to engage with alongside other adhd help

This brilliant book is so good, I had to hear it twice…

Am so glad I listened to this book as it help a person realise, what I never had before, as an assessment taking place now. Truly thankful.

Irritating beyond belief

Oh my goodness, I’m thrilled to discover the reason why I am how I am! I thought it was just me! I just want some help and advice on how to make the most it and overcome the difficulties that I have because of ADHD. This book is going on as if I’m grief stricken! It’s a relief to find out! But the book just keeps going on and on and on about how we have to learn to shine even though our lives have been terrible (apparently) thus far. I’m about an hour in and I still haven’t learned anything helpful, I’m still being justified and sympathised with! I keep thinking ‘GET ON WITH IT!!!’ Giving up now.

Very boring. Did not finish

This was recommended to me by my psychiatrist once I got my diagnosis. I haven’t found it useful & just keep hearing the author using negative self talk examples.
