Mariel Spark is prophesied to be the most powerful witch seen in centuries of the famed Spark family, but to the displeasure of her mother, she prefers baking to brewing potions and gardening to casting hexes. When a spell to summon flour goes very wrong, Mariel finds herself staring down a demon - one she inadvertently summoned for a soul bargain.
Ozroth the Ruthless is a legend among demons. Powerful and merciless, he drives hard bargains to collect mortal souls. But his reputation has suffered ever since a bargain went awry - if he can strike a deal with Mariel, he will earn back his deadly reputation. Ozroth can't leave Mariel's side until they complete a bargain, which she refuses to do (turns out some humans are attached to their souls).
But the witch is funny. And curvy. And disgustingly yet endearingly cheerful. Becoming awkward roommates quickly escalates when Mariel, terrified to confess the inadvertent summoning to her mother, blurts out that she's dating Ozroth. As Ozroth and Mariel struggle to maintain a fake relationship, real attraction blooms between them. But Ozroth has a limited amount of time to strike the deal, and if Mariel gives up her soul, she'll lose all her emotions - including love - which will only spell disaster for them both.

Delightfully easy to read
Charming and funny and such an easy listen to drive home to after a long day at work. The author has written the story at a good pace and kept me interested all along. Looking forward to the next one in the series....

Silly and fun
This book is a really fun listen. It isn’t serious at all, no real peril or plot. Perfect for between more heavy books. It’s a little cringy in places - both the dialogue and the pop-culture references but honestly it added to the lighthearted nature of the book. The narrator was good, even with the very silly British accents. Most of the characters sounded the same (plus or minus a bad accent) but there’s only like six of them so it wasn’t hard differentiating them from each other. Recommend it if you want a silly lighthearted romance

Cute story
It's a cute story, though it might be a little tacky and predictable at times. It took a bit of chapters to get through to the part where it started being good, but after that it also started to get funny and I laughed wholeheartedly more times than I can count on one hand.
I generally enjoyed this story and will recommend.

Heavy on the romance
This book is well written and if you are looking for a book about a sexy romance then its perfect. I was hoping for less of the sexual tension, and more of the magical world and story in the background. So just wasn't for me.

A very predictable story, slightly amusing, with absolutely nothing intriguing happening. The male character's voice is horrendous, highly distracting and downright repulsive. His character also got a makeover from Mega baddie to soft, I-don't- know-what-to-do, blink-blink, spineless and powerless creature. I made myself listen to the end on principle. But would not recommend.

Cute and sweet
Wholesome and easy read. Gentle feels and good vibes. It does read a bit like a YA novel with a little bit of spice, but as long as you’re not expecting more than that it’s ideal.
