About this listen
Comedian Rachel Parris was asked to give an inspiring graduation speech. Who did she ask for advice? Total strangers....
Over the course of a year, award-winning comedian Rachel Parris asked members of her live audience for advice. Here she takes those random bits of wisdom - such as 'Be Kind' or 'Never Pass Up the Opportunity for a Wee' - and explores them in ways that are funny and serious, hilarious and heartbreaking. This uplifting feminist manifesto of a book outlines the essentials of living in the modern world; dealing with everything from tampons to Tories and from #hashtags to staying hydrated.

Funny. Wise. Funny. Wise.
I spent the time listening to this book alternating between thinking how funny so many moments are and then how very wise many of Rachel's observations are too. A few moments made me cry - sometimes with sadness, sympathy and genuine laughter tears. I loved it and will definitely listen again. I've already started to say to all my friends, colleagues and sister 'have you read this ... the audio book's great' ... ♥️

Great advice
Fabulous audiobook. I laughed but more surprisingly I cried, firstly through sadness and then sheer bloody joy.

As Touching As It Is Funny
So well thought out and put together. A great way to approach some of the throwaway and thought out snippets of advice we offer people daily. It is a very moving story at its core and told in such a warm and genuine way. I laughed, I cried, I felt passionate and I felt inspired. It gives you a moment to reflect and what is better than that?

Patchy, but when it hits, excellent.
There are a few chapters that feel like filler but some are vital and important. All of them are delivered with conviction and good humour. There's a free song, too.

All Emotions Covered
I only became aware of Rachel earlier this week from her appearance on No Such Thing as a Fish. I emediatly came here to find the book and have comsed it in 3 mouthfuls.
I have laughed, I have cried, I have come to understand things more than I previously did, and also enjoyed a great book.
Message to the Author. Coventry is a hidden gem 😉. Because in my head Rachel will get to see this. 😊

I expected to laugh…but I was surprised that I was also challenged and moved. Wonderful.

Cannot Recommend Highly Enough
The main question which arises after this book is: what will Rachel Parris do for the rest of her life? To those of us who read it because we know her as one the best comic talents on British TV the pleasure of this book comes not just from her remarkable comic talent but from her wisdom and insight. Obviously this is not a book for the socially regressive (though I do wish she would get off the fence about Boris Johnson and his government...), but provided you share a 21st century view of the world, the book is full of gems of insight and advice. And of course very striking is the honesty and openness with which Rachel Parris shares her personal life, including tragedies, with her readers. One thing when one is at the end of a career but a bold and generous honesty when the author is still young. A tour de force which at times leaves one bursting with admiration and at others reduces one to moist eyed empathy - and often both.

Warm and witty
Really excellent - Rachel, as expected, is warm and witty, weaving advice around her own experiences. The audiobook really makes this book.

Great mix of jokes and substance
Really enjoyed this from the short and funny chapters to the more in depth and personal ones. Fantastically performed as well, of course.
