She knows her teenage daughter Jenny is inside. She runs into the burning building to rescue her. A great listen
I saw this book recommended in a magazine so thought I would see if it was available on Audible.
Fortunately it was , and I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. Finty Williams read it beautifully.

She's done it again
This is again an outstanding piece of work. So creative, beautifully written and captivating. Want more by Rosamund but listened to them all now. Feeling bereft.

Rivetting story full of intriguing twists
Would you listen to Afterwards again? Why?
Yes.
Because I enjoyed it, it was full of interest and I think you would hear new things a second time around.
What other book might you compare Afterwards to, and why?
It does have a resemblance to Sister, not surprisingly.
What about Finty Williams’s performance did you like?
Good pace, good intonation, good differentiation of characters.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were lots of moving moments but I think when Mike finally manages to talk to Adam - they start the dialogue through a closed door and then Adam opens the door. The conversation is full of poignancy and pain but also hope and love.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed how the story gradually revealed the cause of the fire and the motivations of the suspects and was seen through the eyes of one of the victims of a fire who is near death.

Good story, nice twist, well written.
I loved the different angle this book came from. It could so easily have been another "who dunnit", (and I do read a lot of them) but this is far more personal and had me involved at every step.

WOW
Knocks the socks off 'Sister'.
Made me write my first ever audiobook review, and I've listened to hundreds!
Considering I am an athiest and don't believe in spirits, ghosts... whatever... this book did not annoy me like The Lovely Bones.
I became hooked almost immediately. Maybe because I am a mother of an 8 year old boy?
I was gripped by the exciting storyline, but also by wanting to know the emotional impacts on the various characters.
I will definitely be watching out for any future Rosamund Lupton. Thank you.

Afterwards
I really enjoyed this book. An amazing insight into possible life after death. I loved the way she discribed angels. A mother's love is never ending and I loved the way she understood each of her children and how she summed up the love she had for her husband after 19 years. A good read.

Great Read
This book is so well written and perceptive, that although initially I found the story rather implausible it is so sensitive and good to listen to it kept me hooked. More please.
