Summary
When you’ve loved and lost, how do you find the strength to let love in again?
Jemma thinks she’s found the love of her life. Scott is everything she ever dreamed of and she can’t wait to begin the next stage of their life together. But just as she is heading for her happy ever after, a shock revelation shatters Jemma’s life as she knows it. Left to pick up the pieces, Jemma's friends and family rally round to help her find the courage to move on.
Sam thinks he has his future all worked out. A thriving career, lovely home and an amazing fiancée. But when tragedy strikes, he finds himself alone, far from everyone he cares about. Did he do the right thing by running away and trying to rebuild the tatters of his life alone?
This is the story of Jemma and Sam. Two lost souls, desperately trying to find closure and happiness. When a chance meeting brings them together a friendship is formed, but the guards are up.
Will it finally be their turn for a happy ever after? Or will the secrets from their pasts prevent them from moving on?

Outstanding
Jessica’s writing is full of such important issues. I admire her elegant weaving of social and medical complexities with honest and tender communication and refreshingly open dialogue.
Beautifully narrated and performed by Lucy Brownhill and Gareth Bennett-Ryan. Absolutely lovely. Thank you.

lived it
Another fantastic story by Jessica Redland. I love the way she entwines her other stories, yet each book can be enjoyed alone without having to read the others. Real issues and emotions woven throughout this one. Whole story had me hanging on the 'will they, won't they?' Would recommend

JR just gets better...
...and better..I'm not a sentimental person ( but that hasn't stopped me listening to previous books which are more so) and there are plenty of opportunities for saccharine emphasis here, but Jessica manages to skirt them successfully to give you a realistic take on life's dramas. Well drawn and likeable characters too

lovely story but very predictable.
I did like this story, which was well narrated, but it did get a bit repetitive towards the end. Also the possible effects of stress were exaggerated and I found that part of the story unreliable.

Love the connection of characters
Jessica Redland books are simply brilliant. Easy to listen to and connect beautifully with the linked characters in other books who also live in The Bay. I love Lucy Brownhill narration and Gareth Bennet-Ryan in this book particular. As much as I would like to finish the collection with the hedgehog series I can not get passed Emma Swans narration. I will have to find time to read them instead of audible.
