About this listen

Do you struggle with controlling your anger around your children?

Managing anger can be difficult in our day-to-day lives. We become stressed from a day's work, only to walk into our home with the kids acting out, the house is a mess, and dinner still has to be made. No one is listening when you say, “why didn't the chores get done? Stop running in the house. What are we going to eat for dinner?” Your blood boils to the surface, and you explode. You are yelling at everyone until you are heard. Does this sound familiar? It may not even have to be that bad of a situation, but you still explode.

As parents, we have all been there. The unfortunate thing to follow is guilt, because our anger wasn't meant for them. Their behavior just brought it to the surface.

The look on their or your partner’s face after the explosion says it all. Maybe your partner has said something to you about your outbursts? Our behavior is something we can learn to control. Learning to release our emotions in a healthy way will prevent these outbursts and become less and less until they don't exist anymore.

Our children are mirroring our behavior. They learn by example. Are you setting a good example as a parent? Being a positive, encouraging parent is what the goal is, to raise confident children. Taking control of our emotions is the best way to achieve this as a parent. We must set the proper display of how to express our emotions, even when angry.

Anger is manageable and can be controlled. In this book, you’ll discover:

  1. What anger really is. Is it a good thing?
  2. How to identify your triggers.
  3. How to release emotions in a healthy way.
  4. Effective communication
  5. Showing children love and understanding.
  6. Your children mirror you
  7. Becoming a positive role model as a parent.

It doesn’t matter how many children you have or how often you get angry. Controlling your anger can be managed. We only want the best for our children, so lead with that example. Take control of your anger and put it where it belongs. Raise your children to be the self-confident adults we show them how to be.
