Sri M.
About this listen
The author Sri "M" is an extraordinary individual. His uniqueness lies not only in the fact that at the young age of 19 and a half, he travelled to snow-clad Himalayas from Kerala, and there he met and lived for several years with a "real-time" yogi, Babaji, but also that he should undertake such an unusual and adventurous exploration, given his non-Hindu birth and antecedents.
The metamorphosis of Mumtaz Ali Khan into Sri "M", a yogi with profound knowledge of the Upanishads and deep personal insights, born of first-hand experiences with higher levels of consciousness is indeed a fascinating story.
The bonus for those interested in the secrets of yoga, meditation, and sankhyan metaphysics is that Sri "M" is still living and easily reachable. He leads a normal life, married with two children, wears no special robes and conducts himself without pomp or paraphernalia.
Someone who met him recently said, "I expected a flashy godman and instead I saw a jean clad gentleman with a smile on his face, ready to discuss my problems. In five minutes flat, I said to myself, this is no ordinary man. The peace and tranquility that enters your system is tangible."

I absolutely loved this book! Such a treat! The narrator speaks a bit too fast, but you get used to it. Highly recommended!

Coming of age of a narcissist
Generally entertaining and well written travelogue and coming of age story. Less fantastical than Yogninanda's autobiography of a yogi.
Unfortunately also less humble. The author claims to have been anointed by a pantheon of gods including Jesus, and that snakes are from another planet where they rule with superhuman intelligence.
The book is, it turns out, marketing material for the author's Religious organisation and ashrams.
Despite being sent by gods to save ignorant folks from mediocrity, the author prefers not to share any of his colossal wisdom. It's a shame considering he claims to have read approximately every religious and spiritual book in every library in India, and been taught by direct disciples of God himself.
Despite all the above, the journey is enjoyable and educational, in as much as the constant namedropping provides references for learning about India's guru scene of the last century. The scenery is great, the pace is brisk, and until the final naked narcissism of the final chapters, the tale is more or less enchanting.

Throughly entertaining and incredible.
Enjoyed it very much. Although the stories told do seem incredible - something very close to creative writing but the author believes it to be true. Did make me smile on reading the various incidents - ganga swamis, etc. Highly recommended read for anyone - not necessarily for people seeking the truth, but would be an enjoyable read for anyone really. Sincerely thank the author - Sri M for writing this - only wish the stories were trully real. Not saying they were not but our minds are creative and with a little help of ganga - there is no limit to what you see through your mind - although the author is not keen and does not encourage ganga but you were surrounded by people who partake and possiblly the lovely valley in the himalaya have natural ganga like effect when the flowers release their aroma. Ganga may also be used in the food - just a thought, but very much enjoyed the book. Once again thank you for writing - really wish the stories were true.

An autobiography of a living Master
With humility and clarity Sri M shares with us his personal story. He enables us to travel with him on his spiritual journey gently introducing us to the teachings and guidance of his spiritual masters. It is a profound book of truth and the divine, but through his great love and generosity he speaks openly to include everyone. Completely unpretentious his gentleness, humour and love reach out to us, and the most amazing thing is, he is here, now, a
