Summary

When Remy's grandmother dies, it means leaving her life in San Francisco and returning to a town she swore she'd never revisit, forced to confront a world she'd worked hard to put behind her over the last twelve years.

She's not expecting that the first girl to ever steal her heart, the pretty, popular Fallon Lewis, is still around, and in a town this small, their paths continue to cross, much to Remy's dismay. It's hard enough seeing her first love, but it's exponentially more difficult when she can barely stand to look at the woman.

Remy's trip back has the possibility to open up doors she believed were shut long ago, but she's never planned on staying, and she definitely never planned on letting Fallon back into her life.

If she thought being a teenager in a small town was hard, she's about to find out how much harder life is when there's no one but herself to blame for her problems.

Contains mature themes.

Perfect 😍

So nich to listen to LP narrate such beautifully written stories by MM. Emotional, sexy and fun. Definitely the new(better) GBeers or MBrayden 😊

Nice story

I enjoyed this story, just got a bit confused by the use of 'the blonde ' and 'the brunette' constantly throughout the story. It ended up being quite annoying but otherwise it was a nice story.

Another lovely slow burn

Another for my favourites. Monica McCallan is so good at these, making each one fresh and different. The narration, which brings to life every mood and each character, is great too. Altogether a very enjoyable listen.

Learning to become better people

On the journey to becoming better people this couple find their way to happiness. Another great story from McCallan and well worth a listen.

Great story

Like others said this is a great little slow burn about returning to (or remeeting) first love in a way… it’s got interesting and somewhat different pieces to it and the characters were quite endearing to me. I definitely recommend if you like this sort of genre

5 stars isn't enough!! loved this!!

the build up was immense in this book it literally put pains in my chest at time and the actual feeling of feeling like a love sick puppy! so well written the writer really knows what she is doing and how to evoke our emotions and tear us down before bringing us back up. Story very very relatable for any one that remembers their school crush like it was yesterday but this one hits you hard as a nail. wow. narrator nails it so so well she has such a way to deliver that makes you wobble and i often dont enjoy American female voicer over cos it often sounds whiney shrill and nasal but, this one was so skilled she has a nice tone for each character and made it enjoyable to hear and like she, just like the writer had snatched your breath away. Couldn't recommend enough! review from sarah in the UK 🇬🇧

Good story, great audio

Enjoyed the book which I finished before listening to to Lori Prince's audio performance which in mho enhanced the enjoyment.

Great story

Having read this story and really enjoyed it I was thrilled when I saw it was newly available on audio and the amazing Lori Prince was narrator. Still a great story but was confused a couple of times with which character was talking, so a little blip on Lori's performance.

The use of pronouns

Amazing story, but the use of Brunette, Blonde and 'the other woman' instead of the Characters names or her/she completely destroyed it.... U feel disconnected each time those "pronouns" are used. Sadly

one reason why it wasn't 5 star

I really loved this story, and cannot ever fault Lori as a narrator. But the amount of times I wanted to stop listening just because of how the author kept saying "the blonde" and "the brunette" was nothing I've ever had before. it was so annoying for such a small thing. But omg seriously just say their names, you need to mention once who is what hair colour and that's enough for my wee brain to remember, I think they were called blonde or brunette more than their actual names....it was weird.
