About this listen
Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod.
Bayside Summers is a series of stand-alone steamy romance novels featuring alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They're fun, flirty, flawed, deeply emotional, always passionate, and easy to relate to.
Bayside Heat
Drake Savage has always done the right thing, especially where beautiful and fiercely determined Serena Mallery is concerned - even when it means keeping his feelings for her to himself. Serena has always wanted more than what their small town of Wellfleet, Massachusetts, has to offer, and Drake's roots are so deeply entrenched in the Cape that all he can do to watch her pack up her life and move away.
Serena has always had big dreams. As a teenager, she dreamed of becoming an interior designer and marrying smart, musically inclined, sexy-as-sin Drake Savage. Now she's finally landed a killer job with a top interior design firm, but though she has spent the last four years working side by side with Drake, he's never made a move. Four years is long enough for her to accept reality, and her new job in Boston is the perfect way to move on.
A weak moment leads to sizzling, sensual kisses, opening a door through which they've both been aching to walk. But Serena's determined not to give up her shot at the career she's always dreamed of, and Drake has loved her for too many years to stand in her way. With true love at their fingertips and a world of unstoppable passion igniting between them, can the two star-crossed lovers find their way to their happily-ever-after?

Sweet Friends to Loves Romance!
This is the third book in the Bayside Summers Series, a small town romance. Drake and Serena's story is sweet, romantic, and beautifully written. This is a great friends to lovers romance. Ava Erickson and Aiden Snow did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward for more in the series.

Drake and Serena!
Finally these two get their HEA! They are the couple I was hoping for next in the series. They really work together on making the obstacles that seem to get in the way of an enemies/frenimes to lover book seem easy to manage. While they both have separate lives they are also working together to make things work for them.
This book was just so wholesome and gave me all the warm & Fuzzies.

Fantastic visit to Bayside!
This book is exactly why I love Melissa Foster! Back to the cape with Drake and Serena. Best of friends, they have worked together for years. Watching Serena grow up, Drake was always taken with her, but being several years older, kept his distance. Serena's crush has been ongoing for years, but not acting on it as an adult, she is ready to move on. But Drake is not ready to let her go, despite his need to let her fulfill her dreams. Will these two finally get it together? Foster weaves her magic with amazing characters, with incredible visual imagery. I love going to Boston to experience Serena's move, getting to know the city. Back home, we enjoy the beach and the small town feel she gives with the best friends we could have. It's a fantastic listen, a little spicy, friends to lovers story that will leave you smiling.
Aiden Snow as Drake just comes alive with his heart on his sleeve. Each emotion Drake feels is evident and heartfelt. Ava Erickson is so good as Serena. She gives her life as she seeks what her dreams really are, lets us feel her conflict and true love. This is an amazing performance team and wonderful listen.

Don't Stop Believin'
Loved listening to this book, we have read about Drake and Serena from the Seaside series and now they have their own story. They have been best friends for years, and Serena has worked side by side for 4 years. Then Serena gets a job offer in Boston. Drake realises it time to make a move. Will it effect their friendship if it doesn't work out, will Serena move to Boston. Nice to catch up with Matt, Mira and Hagen from Seaside Whispers. There is so much to love about this book which makes it a great read. And it included one of my favourite songs of all time Don't Stop Believing. Each time you think you have just listened to another great book along comes another one, this is definitely in my top ten of Melissa's books

Amazing audiobook for a great story
What a wonderful story. Serena and Drake finally get a chance to move beyond friendship into lover status but right when Serena finally gets the opportunity to live her dreams in Boston. I loved how Drake supported Serena, how love grew even more, even though we started with a high level of respect and love, even when they were friends. Always fun banter with a lot of steamy notes, this story continues to entrench readers in this expansive and wonderful world, filled with repeat characters, fantastic families and love, so much love. As someone who has read almost all this author's stories, including her newer stories, I've read about Serena and Drake and in those later stories, they were together. So it's wonderful to see how it started.
And, having Ava Erickson and Aiden Snow in my ears telling the story? It was a wonderful experience. They are perfect for the roles and Aiden Snow, being one of my favorite narrators, have the gruffness to bring Drake truly to life- he was so fitting for the role. Same with Ava's sweet voice. If you haven't read this yet, the audiobook is an amazing way to experience it!

So here’s the thing
I enjoyed listening to this and was surprised to hear Aiden Snow’s voice so soon because when I came across this I did not look at the narrators.
This was my first book by Melissa Foster and the world she created for the Bayside gang and I’m looking forward to listen to the rest of the gang. The only thing for me was that towards the end it started to feel a bit drawn out, like the story could’ve ended before it actually did. Besides that this was a good read, light and easy to get through.

I still enjoyed it...
I can’t say why, but I didn’t like this book as much as I thought I would. Maybe it was too sweet–I love a bit of alpha in my male characters–or I felt the characters started a relationship too fast–sure, they were friends for years, but everything changes in an instant.
I still enjoyed it though. The fact that Drake denies his feelings because he doesn’t want to keep Serena from her dreams was an interesting take. It was beautiful to see the length he’s ready to go to make her happy. Serena almost looks selfish, but we also see her struggles and the sacrifices she made to stay with Drake in the first place. Both are on an equal footing in the relationship, and that was another thing I liked in this story.
The narration was pretty good, especially the female narrator who’s excellent with emotions.
I liked it, but that’s probably the kind of book you want to read from the beginning of the series. There were way too many characters.

Loved the Narrators
I enjoy friends to lovers stories. This one was a good example of friends to lovers. And how to navigate it.
Drake and Serena were best friends, but also were secretly in love with each other. Drake never wanted to cross that line and then loose his best friend. But then Serena gets her dream job and now it looks like she is moving away and maybe he missed his chance…
Definitely enjoy the story. I loved that Serena didn’t just give in and gave up her dream job. She wanted it and she took it. Maybe the only think that I was a bit hesitant about was that the story was too easy. There was no big dramatic scene, no bit of suspense thrown in, it was just an easy read. I loved the narrator combo though 😊. Aiden Snow is the man. I love listening to his voice and Ava Erickson loved them together 😊

Sweet
This one was such a sweet friends to lovers romance! The characters are quirky and fun, like all of Melissa's characters, so you get pulled in right away and want to know more about them and can't help but root for them. I'm always excited to see where the side characters will pop up next and the question of if they'll get their own book is always fun. That's why I love all the interlocking series so much!
Both narrators did a wonderful job with this one. Soothing voices that were perfect for the vibe of this story!
