About this listen

The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

" Beautiful Disaster is insanely addictive. Beautifully sexy, beautifully intense, and beautifully perfect. Jamie McGuire has written a damn good book." (Jessica Park, author of the New York Times best seller Flat-Out Love)

Strong Love Story

What did you like most about Beautiful Disaster?

The emotional strength of Travis when Abby (Pige) is running him round in circles.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The scenes involving Travis's family - real depth of emotion. Abby can see herself being part of a real family

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could not listen to this book at one sitting - for one - it's too long and two - some of the emotions are so strong I took a break and came back to continue a hour or so later

Any additional comments?

I am glad I tried it and will read it again - don't know if I will bother buying any more love stories they are not my preferred genre

Opposites most definitely attract

Flipping heck. Talk about angsty. College drama, friends to lovers, and some added fighting action. I loved it. Opposites definitely attract as good girl Abby Abernathy strikes up an unusual friendship with the ultimate bad boy on campus, Travis Maddox. Abby didn’t always make the best choices, and I was a little disappointed with her at certain points. I definitely fell for the bad boy, and was rooting for Maddox throughout. He was the ultimate fighting machine and I loved his back story. The audio was narrated by Emma Galvin throughout, and I’ve got to say, I couldn’t have imagined anyone else in the role, she was Abby Abernathy.

it's ok

spoilers

the only reason I haven't returned it is because audible won't allow me to, same with another title I was planning on returning. but honestly, the narrativer sounds far too much like a child for me to really get into it, especially when she he swears. it doesn't feel like something I would read now more like something I would've enjoyed 4 to 3 years ago. this doesn't at all feel like university more like high school or at the very most college in the UK (college and university are different in the uk). not gonna lie the hair line trigger of Travis is a little annoying and sounds like something that would go viral on wattpad but not in real life. but I still gave it a 4 because I used to like it, and im gonna finish it because I have nothing else to do. if a very teenage style drama with a very overprotective violent guy who's into motorcycles and being a tatted bad boy until he finds the one is something you enjoy. go for it

A truly beautiful disaster story

Where does Beautiful Disaster rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's one of the first audiobooks I first read back a few years in 2013 now and still now after reading more than over 100 more books beautiful disaster is still on my top ten fav audiobooks

What was one of the most memorable moments of Beautiful Disaster?

when they had sex the first time but there are so many more than that
Like the ending no spoilers and just pretty much very part of travis when him and Abby became true Friends and more I love there Story I really wanna see it made in a movie with the beautiful disaster (Abby's PoV) and Walking disaster (Travis's PoV) in it

I thought travis was going to be like every other player bad boy but he's a true guy looking for something more since his mum and he's not scared of silly when he knows he's find it he fights for it and wins one of the best loves out there

What about Emma Galvin’s performance did you like?

she's great this was the first time I heard her voice and she's forever placed as Abby it in mind and she is great at doing the guys as well I've listened to more audiobooks with her voice and it's never a let down or boring

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

hell yeah made me every cry the sad and happy tears
Smile and laugh a lot and feel warm inside Abby has the kinda l love i wish I could have someday I even didn't sleep as much I should because i wanna keep up listening
It made me mad and upset and hopeful and annoyed etc a true part of everything

Loved It

Beautiful Disaster is one I already own in paperback, but knew I wanted the audiobook too. I think I preferred the audiobook over the physical book. Listening to this left me with a lot of late nights going to bed on a work day, I just needed to listen to '30 minutes more'.

I already have the next book on my ipod now.
