Summary
What happens when an almost 30-year-old virgin agrees to let her Scottish footballer best friend give her some lessons in seduction?
Lots of banter, awkwardness, jealousy, and heat.
Midfielder Maclay "Mac" Logan is a loud-mouthed, tattooed ginger content with focusing on football. But when an adorable, freckled seamstress comes barreling into his life, he finds Netflix-And-Bickering with her to be his new favorite pastime.
Freya Cook is used to being the invisible woman with a needle and thread, offering cheeky punchlines as she helps dress London's finest. She's plus-sized in body and spirit, and other than her friendship with Mac, talking to the opposite sex is one skill she never mastered.
However, after one innocent game of Never Have I Ever, Mac offers to play Love Coach for Freya.
What neither of them see coming are the feelings that develop when the clothes come off.
Now they’re both about to learn the biggest lesson of all: Don't fall in love with your best friend.
Blindsided is a full length (97,000 words) contemporary rom-com standalone with a sports theme.

Lovely story
This is a really nice audiobook, although it takes a while to get used to the performers accents. The pace is good (although rushes a little in the final chapters) but I don’t regret listening to this!

Pure perfection! Ohhh my!!
Oh, lordy. This sweet, sassy, sexy, emotional, all-encompassing friends to lovers romance is everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. It ticks off so many of my boxes ... it's borderline ridiculous. A swoon-worthy Scotsman - although he is truly a bit daft at times that I wanted to smack some sense into him - deliciously voiced by the talented Will M. Watt (if I had to name my favorite male narrator - it would be him, hands down) and one cheeky, feisty, smart-mouthed heroine, whose skills with the opposite sex are ...uhm, expandable and much too innocent for her age, all perfectly brought to life by the amazing Charlotte Cole. The banter and bickering between those two is out of this world. A match made in heaven. I smiled, I laughed out loud, I cried, I swooned, I screamed and then I laughed some more. It's utter brilliance and definitely one of my favorite friends to lovers romances out there. I need more of Amy Daws' characters' kind of banter, more hunky Scots- and Englishmen and more Charlotte Cole and Will M. Watt goodness. Again, match made in heaven. MORE please!!

Good read, may contain spoilers
I found this book was good at the start then it seemed to slow down a couple of chapters in, I think it was the female accent it seemed like she was dragging her words out to speaking posh (im British 😁), I was like mmm should i continue, but i thought no give it a shot and im glad i did i got back into it and also liked the characters sometimes when mac spoke i missed what he said so i had to go back and listen again, other then that i really liked the characters,(SPOILER) the only thing i will say about the story is it spent most of the book them getting to the point he was helping her out and feelings involved, then splitting to then have 1 chapter of them getting back together and an epologe of them 2 years later (I've noticed this with alot of books lately not just this one and not by this author ) it didn't spoil the book i just feel i spent a lot of time getting to know the characters to have a fast ending

Best one
Absolutely loved this book.
Mac and Freya melted my heart.
This friends-to-lovers romance hit every tick box going. This isn't my favourite trope and there are only a couple of books that have ever made me rethink my rating on this trope. Blindsided is now one of them. Amy has done a fantastic job of making the friendship the foundation of their story throughout. Even when things started to turn sour, their friendship was always the main element of the story.
Mac and Freya have such a comedic relationship with the added bickering of an old married couple. From start to finish these two never stop talking. Mac is constantly ensuring that Freya knows she's amazing in her own way and Freya wants Mac to show her exactly what it's like to date. After a horrendous game of Never Have I Ever, Mac knows exactly where he stands with Freya's expertise in the dating field. From the get-go, I was cheering for Mac to get his foot in the door and make his mark on Freya. The guy definitely fell first and Mac's football-going exterior became that much more squidgy.
This is the first book I've read by Amy that made me cry. I bawled my eyes out, probably, because the story hit close to home but Amy didn't shy away from the difficult topic. Mac had some issues he had to deal with and there were some losses that, unfortunately, happened along the way.

I’m happy I made this book my first audiobook!
I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I loved this book, it was classic Amy Daws. It had everything, humour, love, the crazy Harris family, & a perfect ending. I loved the accents of the narrators, I could listen to the guys voice all day long.
The story was easy to follow along with which I thought would be the hardest part for me since I get distracted and I did have to go back over some chapters since I listened while at work. I think listening to it on audiobook actually made it funnier because I don’t think The Sex would have been as funny in paper as it was listening to them say it haha.
I laughed out loud so many times throughout the book, my coworkers thought I was crazy. The never have I ever game was priceless. I really liked all the Heartland talk since I know how Heartland crazy that Amy is.
Overall this was a great read & I’d definitely give other audiobooks a shot after listening to this one!

The Narrators Brought The Story to Life!
I’m new to audio books and I don’t think I could have started with a better one. Listening to Blindsided was such a treat! The narrators brought the characters and the story to life. I felt like I was watching a movie and not listening to a book. That makes it really good, right? Their accents and ethnic lingo tied everything together. I smiled at the sweetness, I laughed at the hilarious antics of Mac and Freya, I gritted my teeth when Mac made stupid, idiotic decisions, and I cried when they felt pain.
Their bickering and bantering made this book so much fun to listen to and made their relationship real. The shenanigans they get up to and their oh so very sexy and unbridled passion for each other was hhhhot! Once they crossed that line, there was no stopping them, and Mac seems like a wonderful teacher.
I’ve now learned a few naughty things through a little game called Never Have I Ever, I’ve learned how beautiful and treasured a man can make a woman feel when he puts some thought into it, and I’ve learned that if a man pays attention and knows how a woman takes her coffee, knows her favourite shows and her favourite things in life, then he is a keeper! Mac may have gotten a few things wrong along the way, but in the end, he got it right!
To be quite honest, the story itself made me crack up laughing most of the time. The interactions between these two best mates was priceless. Totally off the comical charts. Mac and Freya are absolutely two peas in a pod fighting for elbow room. I loved watching them grow from friends, to lovers, to something more. Their friends and family knew their true feelings way before either of them did, and when Mac and Freya finally realized they’d been blindsided by an unexpected love, my day had been made.
They are perfect for each other. Freya speaks her mind, especially to Mac, and had me snort laughing at the words that left her mouth. Her inner dialogue is just as shocking and I absolutely love her. She is a bold and beautiful human being who I could be friends with in a hot minute. She is plagued with self-esteem issues over the flaws she sees in her plus-sized body. She’s not so different than many of us. Hearing Mac comfort her with his own truths about her, melted my heart. We should all be so lucky as to have a man like Mac in our corner, even if he is a shite cow sometimes.
Mac is a bloke and so he thinks with his other head, aka loch ness monster, most of the time. He loves his best friend and won’t jeopardize that friendship for anything. Their friends-with-benefits arrangement makes perfect sense to him. And why wouldn’t it? Sex has nothing to do with love, right! Mac seems genuinely surprised at Freya's naivete and view of the world, and when he goes about setting her straight with a Scottish tongue lashing, I'm a goner.
As I listened to all the craziness that follows Mac and Freya around, I couldn’t help but shake my head and laugh. Quite frankly, the story is absolutely brilliant and Amy Daws blew me away. This book deserves 5 brilliant shining stars.
I’ve followed Amy Daws since tires, tires, tires became a thing and I love her social media interactions. And yet, I have not yet read one of her Harris books—I know—shame on me! Blindsided brought all those beloved characters back together for another Harris wedding and not once did I feel lost. I love it when authors do this and Author Amy Daws did a bang-up job of filling in who the characters are and now I feel totally ready for all of the Harris brother books. I suppose, if you are a person who prefers to read interconnected books in order, then perhaps you should stay away from Blindsided, but I hope you don’t. Mac and Freya have their very own story to tell and what a whopper it is.

One of the best productions I've ever heard
Thoroughly enjoyed this audio book. My first time listening to Will and his performance was absolutely wonderful. Both narrators were fantastic. This production really brought to life Amy daws characters. Draws you in and you get pulled into it. I couldn't stop for long before tuning in again. Brought such a happy smile to my face listening to these two.

Another great listen!
I don't think you will ever be disappointed with an audiobook from Amy Daws. The narration is spot on, the story is amazing, and you cannot help but be pulled into the story. This is a spin-off novel from the Harris Brothers series but is still fine to be read/listened to as a standalone.
This series just keeps getting better and better! Blindsided is a slow burn, friends to lovers story but Mac and Freya are just everything! Amy's words are truly brought to life through the audio.
These are stories that have to be devoured!
