About this listen
‘Loved it, loved it, loved it. This book has such a powerful storyline, you could really imagine it being real.’
THREE MURDERS. ONE MISSING BOY. THE GAME IS JUST BEGINNING…
When a body is found at the edge of Chellow Dene reservoir Detective Nikki Parekh and DC Sajid Malik are quick to arrive.
This is the third murder in the space of a few weeks. Each murder has a completely different MO, but there is one common theme… all the victims are teenagers. The dead boy reminds Nikki of her nephew, and she feels more helpless than ever.
But then another boy goes missing. And this time his parents have been sent a threatening package too. The pattern is different again – is the killer just playing a game?
Can Nikki find the strength to uncover the shocking truth before the killer strikes again?
From the Queen of Northern Noir, comes another absolutely nail-biting crime thriller! Fans of Angela Marsons, Patricia Gibney and Elly Griffiths will love this rip-roaring read!

Enjoyable with difficulty!
Really enjoy these books, the story lines are well thought out and being fairly local makes them all the more interesting! BUT….. oh my gosh! The narration is just dire!! Please, please consider another narrator! I won’t be purchasing any more if it’s still Shaheen Khan that’s telling the story!! Her Scottish accent is by far the worst I’ve ever heard!!!

Gripping police drama
Another book in the DS Nikki Parekh series - one of the few series that I commit to, although the story can stand on its own.
Great characters that are compelling, plausible and relatable in realistic settings, effectively described. I enjoyed the complexities of the plot, the twists and turns. The tension built up to a dramatic conclusion that kept me listening at every chance.
The inclusion of social media messages was novel, giving a different perspective, and I was glad it was read to me rather than me reading the various hashtags etc in a book. The narration was good.
My only problem was the Audible presentation/storage. The first two ‘chapters’ were not annotated as Intro or Prologue and were numbered as chapters , pushing subsequent chapters out of sync with the labelling. A later chapter (53) was also slipped in early at chapter 27 which confused me and preempted the story. I notified Audible of this but their response was not particularly helpful, implying it was the way I had downloaded it!
A great series, well thought out and written so I feel like I actually know these people now. Thoroughly recommended.

Totally Hooked
I am loving these books and am so engaged in Nikki and her story. You know it’s an amazing set of books when you cry when you loose a character and really care about what’s happening to them all

Overall great and it must be so tricky doing all the accents but the Scottish and Irish were terrible.
Master those and you have a winner and the rest was great !
