Summary

DISCOVER THE TRUTH BEHIND THE HEADLINES, THE REVELATORY ROYAL BIOGRAPHY OF THE YEAR

"I put it to William, particularly, that if you find someone you love in life, you must hang on to that love and look after it. You must protect it."
Diana, Princess of Wales

Through the author's extensive connections within the royal household, this dynamic new biography tells the full story of how Catherine, the Princess of Wales, became the woman she is today.

Kate Middleton's life's story seems like a modern-day fairy-tale.

An attractive, clever, and ambitious girl from unexceptional beginnings meets and falls in love with a wealthy prince destined to be King when they are both university undergraduates. Now, with the British monarchy in transition, Catherine is Princess of Wales and is set to become Queen.

Since her wedding on 29 April 2011, Catherine has endeared herself to the people of the UK, the Commonwealth and worldwide on her extensive travels, with her infectious smile, sense of style and down-to-earth nature. Her self-deprecation, willingness to laugh at herself, solid work-ethic - along with her husband, William, warmth, and accessibility - this royal family's dynamic duo have become the most popular members of the Royal Family. But it's not come without its fair share of commentary and scandal, particularly with recent revelations on the relationship of the 'Fab Four' with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

As interest in the royals continues to gain legions of new, younger fans, there is increasing interest in their histories and back stories of the principal players in this story. This book aims to discover, through talking to close sources both on and off the record within the royal household, what has made Catherine the woman she is today.

Celebrating Catherine

There was very little I disliked in this book, which kind of surprised me as the author has, at, times, seemed very pro Sussex, and he hasn't been beyond making pithy comments about whomever he discussed.

During the various interviews promoting his book, the author seemed more positive generally, and spoke of the Princess of Wales with respect and even warmth at times. I thought I'd give it a go.

As a long-time Catherine admirer, I really enjoyed this book. Did it tell me anything new? Yes, I felt like I got a closer look behind the scenes but it didn't tell me anything I didn't know about Princess Catherine's overall character, no surprise if you've seen someone over the course of over two decades.

After everything we've witnessed Princess Catherine endure this year, it was comforting to enjoy hearing about her without nasty comments popping up, it was also interesting to know how it impacted her. Catherine has also endured over twenty years of the press and social media inspection, being hyper analysed about everything from her style to who people think she is, and what she's done or should have. That includes the 'Waity Katy' media campaign where her image was plastered over the back and one side of double decker buses in London. Who else has dealt with over twenty years of this level of critique? Add to that the years starting at university, of her dealing with paparazzi from leaving her house every day, until 2011 when it became illegal.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, has endured more than most could take. She's borne it all with grace and dignity and got on with her life, trying always to be the best person she could be in all aspects, elevating and promoting others as she goes.

She's not perfect and fully knows it. She comes pretty close to it for me, and this book perfectly illustrates why.

Nice one Jobbo! ☆

what an outstanding woman she is!

Although, this is a nice account of Catherine's life, I feel it goes into 'other peoples' activities and goes off topic from HRH on frequent occasions. However, it tells Catherine's basic life story and how she has worked hard to fit into the life in the Monarchy. It was an eye opener as to just how like 'ordinary people' she was and to an extent, still is with her family values she has kept, by being a 'hands on' parent and ensuring they have their family time.

Very enjoyable

Well written, yes there is a lot we know about but gives a great insight into Catherine, her early life and transition into the Royal Family. It also highlights how cruel the media and social media can be to someone who is so hard working and trying to make a difference in the world.

Excellent

It’s given me a much better understanding of our Princess of Wales and what a beautiful woman (character as well as looks) she is.

Very perfect couple and it really shows with all of them she’s so perfect she let harry follow them around and that wasn’t good enough for him William and Catherine are perfect and harry and Megan just don’t like that I wish her a speedy recovery and can’t wait to hear she’s well

Boring bland nothing more than you would read in a newspaper.

Disappointing. No revelations very boring and juvenile style writing. It was just a timeline of her time with the Royal family. Descriptions of each visit were banal in the extreme.

Panegyric

Panegyric - nothing new. Waste of time and money. Wondering how much Jobson got paid from the Royal Family?!

Sick making 🤮

Written by a sycophant for a sycophant. It doesn’t do Kate any favors because it makes her sound too good to be true, and there was no need to go through all the past Princesses of Wales at the end.
