About this listen

It's 1987. One morning, 15-year-old Tania Mills kisses her mother, walks out of her front door and disappears. In 2014, when a new lead comes in for Tania's case, DS Sarah Collins is asked to investigate. PC Lizzie Griffiths, the subject of Collins' last investigation, is back on the job and working at a domestic violence unit. When a quirk of fate brings Lizzie and Collins back into contact, each must try to reconcile the claims of the past with the demands of the present.

Utterly Gripping

Couldn't stop listening. The narrator carries the story brilliantly. Very excited for the third book!

The Missing Link

This audiobook was well written and narrated. It told two separate stories, both of which were interesting and exciting, but I failed to see anything but the most tenuous and superficial link between the two stories. I kind of felt like the author had two novellas and decided to put them together to create a novel. I would listen to another book by this author as the standard of writing was good, I just felt a bit disappointed in the manner the two stories were linked. Also the blurb describing the book gave the impression it was a single story.

An unexpected pleasure!

I bought this as something to take a chance on in a Two for One sale and what a find. This is an excellent Police procedural. The characters are very well drawn, the story engrossing and the narration first class. I have now purchased the author’s first book (this one is her second). I wish I had read them in order, but at least I have found an excellent new author, so, can’t complain. Enjoy!

Took a while to get in to story

I bought this having watched “The tower” on tv. I didn’t realise it was based on a book or I would have read the books first.

I found it difficult to settle into the stories as the descriptions of the characters who were in the tv series jarred with their descriptions here. Once I just gave up trying to picture my own interpretations of the characters and their characteristics and settled for the on screen ones, it was enjoyable.

Very well written

Enjoyed this but the narrators pronunciation of the name Tania as Tar nia jolted me every time, distracting from the story.

Brilliant

I did not enjoy the first book 'Post Mortem' so much but this one is marvellous. A fantastic story, thoroughly believable, an intricate web of intrigue guaranteed to keep you reading long into the night. Fabulous all round.

most jumbled garbled plot imaginable

Do I really need to know what a suspect wore to a police interview ?? A laborious long winded slow moving jumbled story that never seemed to go anywhere and when it did simply jumped all over the place. Awful!
