ADHD Knowlege
As a mom of 3 boys all with varying degrees of ADHD this book really hits home. Rose Lyons has written a great book and Amanda Jo does a wonderful job narrating it.
As a parent of ADHD children i have made it a point to devour as much information as i can regarding it. This book does a wonderful job filling in some of the information gaps regarding emotional behaviour. I love the authors idea of being a safe space for my boys and how i can help their teachers in school understand their individual needs.
Working on their emotions using the PEACE method that is outlined in this book is worth the cost of the book alone. There is so much more information in the book but trust me, just that section is worth every penny.
This is a great book we highly recommend

Informative and Insightful
Rose did a beautiful job of writing in an easy-to-understand audiobook for parents who are struggling with their child's ADHD diagnosis. One of the scariest things as a parent is accepting and understanding a new or foreign diagnosis but the author did a beautiful job of explaining what ADHD is and, instead of being triggered by it how to turn that frustration around to better help your child.
I particularly loved the section about how to successfully help your child in school or activities and advocate for them to succeed in those roles.

Very Informative
"Defusing Explosive Behavior in Children with ADHD" has it all!! Usually I find information online to be easier to look up, but this book is not only up-to-date with accurate scientific information, but it also has a lot of guidance that is practical and manageable. It is no easy task for a parent/teacher to give the best attention and care to a child who has ADHD- let alone to not lose it! This book gives the clear support and advice that is needed to have no child feel like they're left out. What I appreciate the most was how the book added a positive twist by adding how family bonds can be created to keep the family together through such a difficult path otherwise. Great guidance to have!!

A most helpful tool for overwhelmed parents
As a teacher who navigates the ups and downs of working with little people who must learn to manage ADHD, I know all-too-well how overwhelming it can become for adults, and how difficult it can be to stay calm and clear-headed around these well-meaning kids. The tools proposed in this lovely listen are practical and evidence-based. I would highly recommend adding this to your library if you are a parent or carer of a little person who is neurodivergent.

Great tool for anyone with adhd children
I liked the authors take on how to diffuse a child who’s gone into melt down mode. I also enjoyed the suggestions for how to help them regulate their moods and maybe keep them out of melt down instead of having to react afterwards. It makes so much sense the way the author explained how to work with your child and help them instead of being critical and angry. The author also says to realize you’re only human and not going to do everything perfect. Having this book to help you understand your child and help them manage their own feelings is a great start.
