One minute everything is good; your child is calm and focused. But then, in the blink of an eye, something changes—now they’re hysterical, screaming, and getting them to sit still for even half a second is suddenly impossible. Do you often sit there and worry about your child's temper, wishing there was something you could do to help them calm down a bit, but not knowing where to start? Is their frustration leaving you frustrated, causing you both to spiral out of control? You’re not alone.

There are over 6.4 million parents feeling exactly what you are feeling right now. With some deeper insight into what ADHD actually is and how it affects your child's brain, paired with a practical guide for how to effectively navigate this situation, you’ll soon find that your child's “problem” isn’t actually a problem at all.

In Parenting Strategies for Raising ADHD Children, you’ll discover:

  • How ADHD is affecting your child's brain chemistry, and why understanding this is the key to making the right decisions for them
  • The number one thing your child needs from you and how you can give it to them best
  • Why your child’s hyperactive mind is actually a good thing and what you can do to help them realize this
  • Effective strategies for teaching your child how to express their emotions in a way that you can actually understand
  • Why you shouldn't force your child to do things a certain way and how this will help them be more relaxed
  • A play-by-play action guide for helping your child navigate the difficult world of peer pressure
  • How to help your child overcome their limiting beliefs and begin to truly connect with the truth of who they are

Your child needs you to step in and help them understand who they truly are, and why their way of being isn’t actually a problem. More importantly, you also need to give yourself some much-needed breathing room and time for relaxation.

Your child's ADHD is a blessing not a problem

My daughter thought she had ADHD and I almost got sold. After reading this book I now know for sure she doesn't have it. This book gives a clear and well elaborates description of what ADHD is.
But most importantly it helps you understand how to turn the irony of having a child with ADHD to a blessing. this is a must read to all parents and families with a person who had ADHD or even those who claim to have it.
Very professional and helpful.

Valuable resource for parents of ADHD children

As the parent of an ADHD child, I found "Parenting Strategies for Raising ADHD Children" to be an incredibly insightful and helpful resource. The author takes a refreshing perspective, viewing ADHD as a brain that works differently rather than a problem to be fixed. This shift in mindset alone made a significant impact on how I approached parenting.

What I appreciate most about this book is that it goes beyond the usual advice and offers creative suggestions to mitigate ADHD symptoms. It provides practical tips and advice on how to support and help your child in various areas. The author seeks to debunk common misconceptions about ADHD and provides strategies to help organize routines, enhance productivity, and boost the child's self-esteem.

This book not only provides valuable strategies but also helps parents understand the condition better. It is written in easy-to-understand language, making it accessible to all listeners. If you are a parent navigating the challenges of raising an ADHD child, I highly recommend "Parenting Strategies for Raising ADHD Children" as an essential resource.

Positive words for ADHD Children

There is a lot of good advice in this audiobook. I particularly liked the chapter with the boy and the plane, encouraging him to enjoy his passion and the parents to encourage him. Good book.

Great advice and great help

I spend a bit of time understanding how children learn and I am aware of ADHD and that it can play an important part in a child’s frustration. This book explains it all so well – from the background to understanding the chemistry at play – and then limiting beliefs. Knowing this really helped. Then there are all sorts of steps and strategies – but they are well planned and easy to follow. I loved the section on peer pressure. I found this book invaluable – just a great book and one I will return to.

A great resource for parents

I wanted to listen to this book as I work with children and their families and wanted to understand children with ADHD a little better. The author has provided a lot of information, I will be using and recommending the strategies suggested in the book.
I really liked how the author has provided advice for parents to become better and positive parents by giving them the tools to use not just saying 'be a positive parent'.
My children don't have ADHD but I feel like I can use the strategies with them too, to build a more positive relationship.
I liked the questions that are asked which can help adults to understand how kids view themselves,
I also liked the narration, I think the voice/tone/style brought the book to life!

Brilliant book

This book is brilliant. There are many great strategies in this book that will help kids with ADHD, and help their parents understand them better, but it's also great, helpful advice for all parents.
I haven't come across many authors that talk about the fact that crying is important. We shouldn't be trying to stop our kids from crying. Crying is okay, and it's a way for kids to help process their emotions.
There are so many other great parenting nuggets in this book. Modelling, for example, is the key to getting kids to behave the way you want. I wish I had understood that better when our kids were young. (Do as I say, not as I do doesn’t work.)
I think the big takeaway for me was that you want to understand your child better. Trying to react to what they are doing, in the moment, in the form of punishment, won't work. Understanding them and creating situations and environments that help them be themselves seems to be the key. And part of that is talking about behaviour and expectations, getting feedback from them so they feel heard, and helping them process and understand their emotions. The author explains that ADHD brains have more trouble making happy brain chemicals than non-ADHD brains. I never knew that. This is one of the reasons that their frustration levels build faster.
There are many great strategies for overcoming challenges. My favourite line is, "Obstacles are opportunities in disguise."
A big "wow" moment for me was when the author talked about limiting beliefs in our kids and how to manage and correct them. Amazing advice for everyone. And there's also great advice on how to recognize your child’s Learning style so you can help them learn.
This book is just full of amazing stuff.

Great book

ADHD can often be a taboo subject and seen as a negative. But this book goes into detail on
How to see the positives. It goes into great detail on how to understand a child who has ADHD and techniques for dealing with different scenarios and how to teach your kids to process and deal with their many different emotions. Highly recommended
