Summary

She's my cherry pie. Tastes so good, make a grown man cry.

Who could forget the sexy "Cherry Pie" girl from hair metal band Warrant's infamous music video? Bobbie Brown became a bona fide vixen for her playful role as the object of lead singer Jani Lane's desires. With her windblown peroxide mane, seductive scarlet lips, and flirtatious curves, she epitomized every man's fantasy. But the wide-eyed Louisiana beauty queen's own dreams of making it big in Los Angeles were about to be derailed by her rock-and-roll lifestyle. Ever wonder what it's like to f*** a rock star? After her tumultuous marriage to Jani imploded, and her engagement to fast-living Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee ended in a drug haze - followed by his marriage days later to Pamela Anderson - Bobbie decided it was time Hollywood's hottest bachelors got a taste of their own medicine. Step one: get high. Step two: get even. In a captivating, completely uncensored confessional, Bobbie explicitly recounts her encounters with some of the most famous men in Hollywood: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Costner, Mark McGrath, Dave Navarro, Sebastian Bach, Ashley Hamilton, Rob Pilatus of Milli Vanilli, Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, Orgy's Jay Gordon, and many more. Who's got the most titanic dick in Tinseltown? Whose bedroom did Bobbie (literally) set on fire? No man was off limits as the fun-loving bombshell spiraled into excess, anger, and addiction. Bobbie survived the party - barely - and her riveting, cautionary comeback tale is filled with the wildest stories of sex, drugs, and rock and roll ever told.

Hair metal from the inside

If, like me, you’re a fan of the 80’s hair metal scene of Motley Crue, Warrant & that whole shebang, you’ll really dig this inside track. Much like Crue’s The Dirt, the excesses of sex, drugs & rock n roll are laid bare & the gory details are put (at times uncomfortably) all out there. Bobbie Brown saw it all and it took its toll on her & pretty much everyone else involved. But a great romp through a very surreal chapter of rock history in La La Land

Honest and well written

Too walk a mile in someone else,'s shoes. You read mags like hello that sell an image but this is real life. The good the bad and the ugly.
I was rivited to this story and listen to it in one day. Emotionally honest. Wishing Bobbie all good thing's in the future x

Absorbing

An interesting account of growing up in 70's America. Not self-pitying or blasé. First world problems (if you were a pretty, white girl living the "high" life). I enjoyed it.

Brilliant audiobook

A very honest and in depth look in to a rock and roll life. Really well narrated. No holds barred. I fell upon this without knowing who Bobby brown is, but I’m glad I did. Brilliant read for anyone who feels life can sometimes kick you hard that you can’t get up, Bobby j brown shows that you can always get back up.

Everything!

Just loved the whole book! Stories, memories. A glimpse back stage during rock wonder years. One of the best memoirs in this genre. The narration is brilliant too! If you remember the late 80’s, early 90’s American rock scene, you will enjoy this! Highly recommended ☺️

A Great Book to Listen to

I don't usually leave a book review, I just leave a star rating. But I really enjoyed learning about Bobbie Brown's earlier life, even though I have never heard of her and had no idea who she was. I was gripped from start to finish and recommend this book to all

The other side of the story on the sunset strip

If you have ever wondered what the other side of the story is like on the sunset strip this is the book to read. It is a cautionary tale of excess which is startling and endearing. If you have read The Dirt, read this as it shows not everything in that book may have happened the way they said. While this obviously pairs really well with The Dirt, as a stand alone book I would highly recommend it as an introduction to life in the hairmetal scene.

Bobbies story is not one you want to miss... The narration is really good and you can tell it is narrated by the person who lived it, as every now and again you will hear a little laugh as she remembers something particularly absurd that happened to her.
