About this listen
The first book in the McCabe Brothers, a spin-off of the best-selling Friessen Series, a family saga loved by fans worldwide from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Lorhainne Eckhart.
Fifteen years ago, Vic McCabe was headed down a one-way road to destruction with the love of his life. But then the unthinkable happened, a mistake that changed their lives forever.
Successful billionaire contractor Vic McCabe is a man every woman wants, but he gives his heart to no one. However, one day a reporter shows up, asking questions about a past he's buried, a mistake he made 15 years ago that could destroy his future and that of the woman he's tried to forget.
After evidence surfaces, dredging up details of the night that changed his life forever, Vic is forced to seek out the only woman he's ever loved - the woman who has sworn to hate him forever.

Hooked from the start
What a brilliant storyline that am sure will resonant with so many people out there.
Absolutely amazing range of voices and accents by the narrator.
A heartwrenching storyline with loadsbof humour in it. Most memorable phase "you will probably say Satan was a misunderstood child" that had me in giggles.
Can't wait to listen to the rest of the Mcabe brothers.

Good narration. Entertaining story
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more This is my first book from this author. The plot is good and I love how the story unfolds at just the right pace. I was a little bit disappointed not finding out what plans Vic had for Brada's brother but overall it was a good read, loveable characters that draws me into the story. Listening was fun. Good narration.

An interesting romance!
This audiobook was good, the story interesting. It was fascinating how Lorhainne Eckhart included racial/religious profiling in the story. She covered it differently than most, from the side of the person being racially profiling (and why they may not want to address it publicly) and from the point of view of the indignant bystander.
Spoiler alert: I did struggle abit with the vagueness of Fiona's ethnicity. She was referred to as Muslim with a skin tone that could pass her of as a person of Mediterranean ethnicity. But Muslims can and do come from every corner of the world so it was difficult to understand what this meant. To be fair, her having a Muslim parent and an unusual name was more important to the plot than where her Mum was from, but I like to be able to picture the characters in my head.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
