Summary

When a viral apocalypse kills 97 percent of the people on the planet, the survivors' humanity is hanging by a thread. Amid the leftovers of civilization, ex-Army Ranger Jason Larsen is reminded of the meaning of hope, family, and loyalty by a dog and a young boy who are as alone as he is. The survivors he seems to collect become family, and that is very bad news for those who think they run the apocalypse.

The best narrator you could ever listen to

I started listening to this amazing narrator a few years ago for Day by Day. He creates an amazing world of characters that interact in a painful yet hopeful descriptive storyline.

Thank you for making a great story even better. 👍

decent story

Not too original but how many different ways can a post apocalyptic world be explained, it was a story well told though. And I felt like I was in there at some points so worth a listen for fans of this genre.

Great story and characters, only letdown was the English accent by narrator but not a deal breaker

Great

From the start this is a very well written and thought out story of survival, I was hooked from ten minutes in.

Excellent

All aspects of this novel were excellent. I thought the quality of writing, especially in the first few chapters were of the higher order.

Why do men always turn into animals in these?

Good narrator, reasonably sympathetic characters, fairly coherent and well written, but why-o-why must men always turn instantly into murderous, insane, gun-toting animals in these stories? Why is there never anything about humanity getting together, supporting each other and rebuilding.
