About this listen
The Mystery has made a second appearance, heralding a message of desolation...
With less than six months on the clock until the planet's destruction, Nate and his friends scramble to find a way to get everyone to move on to the second planet in the System of Twelve.
Laybor is a dangerous world, one that cannot be safely traversed by anyone below the 30th rank, and things only get worse from there.
News of Portal Reavers—people who prey upon anyone traveling through portals—begins to spread, and Nate and his allies must find the responsible parties and end them if their own plans are to succeed.
At the same time, yet another Dark Guild from Nate's past rears its ugly head. With so much on the line and so many things to juggle, Nate will have to fight harder than ever to ensure the survival of his family and the human race as a whole.

The forced plot twist at the end ruined it for me
I will try not to spoil too much, but at the end of the book someone that should have been dead turns out to be alive and it happened in such a forced manner that it put me off from the next book
Especially since you could have had the same result by using the grieving sister out for revenge instead.
It makes no sense for the person in question to use a fake tome with the said sister when there was no reason to suspect observers, so Nate would have known about the real tome.

A second chance.
End of the world 2 starts where the previous left off. Nate, Noam and Freya working towards getting stronger and protecting the human race.
Aaron does an interesting job in his depiction of Nates struggle with knowing what will happen. Though the more of the story I read he comes across as somewhat villainous himself. Losing sight of humanity and instead focusing on his loved ones.
Sbt and JTJ Do a stellar job with this audio book as always. The quality of the voices and accents do a great job of separating everyone. Including some interesting effects in the final showdown of the book.

so good
just as fun, entertaining and interesting as the first one.
great plot, lore and characters that i can't wait to hear more about.
SBT are as always masters of the multiple narrators and the quality and smoothness of the transitions are stellar.
however a few chapters are cut off a little short which lowers the ranking, once that's fixed this is 5 stars no doubt

You want to stop, but just need to listen to a little more...
I listened to this book immediately on release, but only remembered to review it after the second listen through! If you haven't guessed it's a great book with an excellent audio performance. I found the concept of the story really interesting and I was hooked from the end of the first chapter in the first book. This book follows on from the first and continues to grow the core team while moving us forward into the next world.
Sometimes you find a story and a production that is just really easy to listen to and this is definitely one of those. You go to turn it off, but just want to listen to a little more...

Can't wait for next!
Great sequel with an interesting ending. Not as dark as the lasts ending but I'm still excited to see the follow up and where it leads.
Highly recommended!

This series has become a favorite
What's good with the first book is still good in this one. The plot is never boring, I can actually follow along with the combat sequences. And the performance by the voice actors is amazing.
