Wonderful Marian Keyes

Having The Marian Keyes read her book to me made it triple good, as I tend to wonder if the author really wanted the caracter to sound like this or a change of tonation changes the whole scene, it’s so lovely to know this is straight from the horses mouth so to speak.. Also such a lovely voice filled with warmt and humour in the most gorgeous accent, she could probably have me enjoying anything she read - but of course this is classic Marian Keyes style awesome, with amazing and likable characters, blowing my mind with their kindness and making me resume some hope for human kind! And again you shine your light on very important subjects and give focus and insights that one can bring within and hopefully be a kinder person for having walked a mile in that shoe, living through every part of your story! Thank you!

Fantastic, and it’s narrated by Marian herself!

Fabulously funny, poignant, romantic, socially aware, what more do you want? I wished it was longer, I was so enamoured with the characters lives, hardly got anything done as all I wanted to do was carry on listening, but at the same I didn’t want it to end.

Fabulous Book

This book is brilliant and with Marian Keyes herself providing the narration this audio book becomes even more perfect. Such great characterisation and enough drama to keep you wanting more and more.

Every bit as good as expected

Possibly Marian’s finest book (though I suspect I have thought this at the end of all of them!). She manages the rare talent of mixing humour, social comment, reality in relationships and a bit of sex seamlessly. The eating disorder storyline was handled brilliantly. It is something that affects our family and I am grateful for her well researched insights.
My only complaint is that it is OVER! Bless you Marian and enormous thanks.

fabulous

from the very start it was like having a friend tell you a story about people you don't know and now you want to know everything. So many dynamics and personalities and relatable moments. I loved the 17 hours of pure Keyes.

Disappoited

I love Marian's books, but this one just was not for me. Far too many characters, making it a bit confusing. Sorry, but I did not like her narrating her ow book. I kept losing concentration, as I was getting bored, and had to keep re-winding.

OK but nothing special

Not nearly as good as the other book I've listened to of hers 'The Break'. And she should leave the narrating to the professionals. Her style was very distracting...when..she would stop...almost in mid sentence....so you thought the sentence / paragraph was complete.... only to then continue.
Having said that I don't like to be too critical of any author. The ability to write a story is awesome and certainly a talent I dont possess. But these little things separate the good from the great
