Summary

Delusion is the ideal place to rest on a painful journey to the truth.

David Nunn considers himself a good man. Employed as a counsellor for a mental health charity in North London, his typical day revolves around broken minds and dysfunctional lives.

Then, one day in January, a young man staggers into the charity’s office; no appointment booked and seemingly in the grip of a drug-induced episode. David reluctantly agrees to see the young man.

It proves a brief but fateful encounter.

Within days of that meeting, two men gate-crash David’s life; their motives wildly different but each making a demand. What they both have in common is their propensity for violence and deep-rooted psychological issues.

As his world descends into turmoil, David must decide if one of those men can save him from the other. Perhaps more importantly, can he save a self-confessed headcase from himself?

Farewell Clement?

Lovely ending. Strange to start there but it has been a journey. Almost an expectation of another witty fabulous episode. My only gripe is the endless repetition of ‘my wife ‘. I have never heard anyone use this so many times instead of just using her name. It’s not as if we don’t know who she is. David was a bit gormless too. Endless inane unnecessary questions That said I still love Keith A Pearson’s books and am feeling bereft. On with Mungo Thunk I think.

Another masterpiece

I’ve really enjoyed this series and I’m gutted it’s over.

Very good ending and a good conclusion to the series.

Very enjoyable

Good old fashioned against the clock adventure stuff again. Not terribly challenging, but it’s not meant to be. My only criticism is, again, the author creating a co-principal character who is, on occasion, pretty stupid. It’s a minor irritation though. This has been a fun series to listen to whilst doing boring jobs or relaxing before bed. Good stuff, recommended for a bit of fun escapism.

Loved the whole series of Clement books.

Great stories, great characters, well paced and good narration.

On to the Angel of Camden series next.. can't wait.

Clement should be on the big screen!

Oh dear God! Mr Pearson you've done it again!

Why oh why can't I have a Clement? I love the story and this character, totally. This is a work of fiction and yet I sit here blubbering like an idiot because Clem has gone yet again!!! when is he coming back? when can I get my next fix of Clem? This series will probably be the best feel good series of books you'll ever read and I love them ♥️

Brilliant storytelling.

I loved each and every one of the Clement stories including Headcase. Great stories told with humour and an excuse, with Clement coming from the 70s to be, let’s say, slightly politically incorrect. Thanks Keith. I was sad knowing that Headcase was probably the last of the series…… or is it?

Turns right when I was expecting left!

Tough going at the start - feels a little too familiar/formula? - but that's deliberate. So stick with it, as it sets up a very unexpected and satisfying conclusion. Right down the very last sentence
