Really enjoyed this!
Having worked my way through the excellent DCI Gillard series, I was looking for another Nick Louth work to listen to. As soon as I saw that this was narrated by the fantastic Jonathan Keeble, I bought it, and it absolutely did not disappoint!!
The book is 7 years old, but has only just been recorded as an audio book.
The first section does jump back and forth over a 20 year period, which is slightly confusing initially, but stick with it, as you soon get into the rhythm, and it the relevance soon becomes obvious.
The rest of the world book cracks along at a very fast pace, leading to a very tense finale.
An excellent listen!!

Very good audio book
I have to agree with the majority of listeners who think that this is a great book and disagree absolutely with the single one who thinks it isn't. There is enough drama to keep the most demanding listener happy without being 'over-the-top', the narration by Jonathan Keeble is up to his usual high standards, even better than some his I've heard before and the storyline is well constructed and executed. There are enough interesting characters in it and Jonathan was able to keep them differentiated in his narration. All in all, a very good listen.

Eye opening drama
This is not my usual reading matter, war and death. The research for this book must have taken many months, as the details are amazing. The story about Osama Bin Laden turns people to stone with fear, and the people he used weren't always complicit. Well worth a listen. Extremely well written, and brilliantly narrated.

Wonderful listen
This was my favorite Nick Louth book by far… I do appreciate how long it was of course! It was a bit tricky to follow all of the shifting timelines in the beginning but I love the in-depth character transformations and the story really was beautiful. I would love to hear more like this and would love another book on Chris if there was a way to make anything else interesting happen for him!

Really Liked this one!
Worth the credit, If you like Middle East suspense novels this is a good one to add to the library. I found it by searching through Keeble's collections. He's honestly one of the best narrators and does an amazing job in novel.
I have listened to multiple novels similar to this and have to say it was the best in illustrating why Islamic extremism is so prevalent in world events and politics in our modern times. Louth does a stellar job in getting into the mind of people that head down that path.
Other reviews complained about the length, but I prefer novels that spend ample time developing the characters and explaining why they make the chooses they do.
I recommend!
