About this listen
The foundational work you do now is critical, and you’ll always have it to fall back on. Make sure your horse is never spooked in a dangerous moment again. From desensitizing and disengaging to backing up, these are fundamental training procedures you can’t afford to get wrong, and they’re not procedures you’ll only ever have to engage in once.
You don’t need to spend years in equestrian school to learn these skills: You simply need access to all the essential knowledge distilled and explained in one clear resource, and that’s exactly what you’ll find in this guide.
Inside, you’ll discover:
- The art of desensitizing—guard against your horse becoming spooked at a critical moment
- How to make sure your horse will disengage in any situation that starts to get out of control
- The single most important skill you can teach your horse in order to establish gentle (but firm) leadership
- Why "flexing" is a crucial skill to teach…and the secret to rendering your inside rein unnecessary as a steering tool
- The number one thing you must not do in a frustrating training session if you want to maintain control of your horse
- The fundamental skill you’ll need in order to calm a highly strung horse (Think yoga for horses…but easier and more professional!)
And much more.
The foundational skills you build with your horse now will pave the way for a solid relationship and a future in which you’re always in control. Nothing can be taken for granted in horsemanship, and no matter what stage of the journey you’re at, you’ll need to polish these skills throughout your horse’s lifetime.
Build on your foundational knowledge, and know exactly how to keep your horse gently under control in any situation. Scroll up and click “buy now” today.

Good bite-sized 2nd book 🏇
This book is all about building that understanding in your horses mind about reward and pressure indicating they did something bad focusing on the round pen. It's about balancing the training with love so the horse does not only associate you with work. I learned a fair bit in this short audiobook!

Perfect guidance for new and experienced horsemen
Author Augustus Walton speaks with the confidence that only comes from years of tried-and-true experience. There is so much more to horsemanship than just staying in the saddle, and the author breaks down every detail in a way that is fun, informative, and riveting. Excellent narration from Andrew Rowe as well makes this a must-have guide for any equestrian enthusiast!

Learning how to keep your horse under control
Using these foundational techniques will make sure that your horse doesn't spook easily and can help maintain rider control.
The training procedures can get your horse prepared for incidents in the future, so you don't have any unexpected surprises. The same techniques are taught in equestrian schools but tend to cost a lot of money, that you do not need to spend. Keepin a horse is expensive enough and if you can train them yourself, then you not only become closer to the horse but save your self additional costs for someone else to train them. These are simple instructions that allow you to do just that.
Horses can be stubborn, as well, so the book also teaches you what to do to establish control and let the horse know who is in charge, but in a gentle and calming manner. Horses learn just like we do. Using these techniques is not a one-time deal. They are meant to be maintained and used to reinforce previous trainings, so once again, think about the costs to have someone else do the training.
.
I highly recommend this book as a guide on how to train your horse. I only wish that I had one when I owned horses!
