Brilliant
Quite possibly the best general science book I have ever listened to or read. Worth 6 or 7 stars. I cannot believe anyone would be disappointed by this book. Excellent narration and perfect pace.

Great book and enjoyed every minute
I think for someone who is casually interested in science like myself this book is perfect. it explains everything well and doesn't take it too serious by adding light humour to keep it interesting and I loved it when the author goes of on a tangent and explains things, highly recommend it. covers such a wide range of topics too.

Really clear Science for all
An excellent introduction to Science in a progressive and chronological fashion, in an interesting way. Really practical and engaging fashion. Loved the content and the approach.

A Brief History of Physics
That would have been a much more accurate title for this book. How to Speak Science is misleading. Although it touches upon chemistry and, to a lesser extent, biology, I was expecting a more rounded representation of all sciences. That said, it is a well written science book for a lay audience, highlighting important discoveries through the author's personality and humor which the natrator owns pretty well. However, the "People" joke does get old pronto.

Struggling to understand science. Struggle no more
An absolute wealth of funny, interesting, chewable chunks of the history and the present of scientific discovery. This is the book for you if you have been searching for a book that will help you understand the concept of both the very big and the very small. The author has a real talent in communicating things so that they seem much more simple than they can 1st appear. Please write more books. Black holes, dark matter or anything that the author can put over to the audience with the same expertise in the art of description that he shows in this little gem.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
A very enjoyable book and well narrated. It covers a multitude of science subjects, I learned quite a few new things and could quite easily listen again in the future.

Doesn't bring anything new to the table and the amount of colloquialism in it (for a book thats titled 'how to speak science') is unbearable.

Not as advertised
I've given up with 10 hours still to go. With a title like 'How to Speak Science' I expected a book about the vocabulary of science, explaining scientific terminology and how to communicate like a scientist - instead I got a standard history of science book. If a history of science book is what you're looking for though this could might be your thing.

Informative yet with some editing required
Lots of interesting information but the repetitive ‘We’ll come to that later’ and ‘People -The Species not the Publication' is irritating. Bill Brysons A Short History of Nearly Everything is for me more enjoyable. That said if you can stomach the narration the book is filled with some interesting information of note as the book progresses. The Glossary at the end detailing the Great Minds their Nationality, Contribution and Dates is also interesting.
