Summary
Rebecca Keane has it all figured out. With a successful career as an Army surgeon and a fresh promotion to lieutenant colonel, she loves her life leading a surgical team. Even if that life means she’s spent years hiding her sexuality and ignoring her desires under the Army’s "don’t ask, don’t tell" policy. Then Captain Sabine Fleischer’s arrival sets off an attraction that cracks Rebecca’s carefully cultivated armor and brings about fresh complications.
As Sabine’s direct commanding officer, Rebecca knows she cannot act on her attraction, but that knowledge does nothing to squash her desires. Unable to keep her thoughts about the alluring other woman under control, Rebecca resigns herself to years of censoring her thoughts and feelings until Sabine’s time in the Army is done. She’s spent decades suppressing parts of herself for her job, so what’s a few more years?
But as Rebecca and Sabine work closely together on Army bases in Afghanistan and the States, the undeniable sparks between them begin to ignite. And despite Rebecca’s constant self-censure, her denials and her knowledge of every obstacle standing between them, her resolve crumbles with each passing day. But when the consequences of your love run deeper than just breaking one of the unbreakable rules of the military, you risk losing more than just your heart.
If I Don’t Ask is the must-hear story telling Rebecca’s side of E. J. Noyes’ best-selling Ask, Tell.

Wow, just Wow!
I have loved every minute of this journey with Sabine and Rebecca. I am going to put this out there...
These books needs to be televised...into a mini series... Georgina Lowe could create a masterpiece with this!
E.J Noyes, you fabulous, gifted, talented woman... its time people get to experience this in colour... your books deserves it! These 2 beautiful people has to be gifted in that way, because believing this is the only way we could know them cannot be a reality.
So... I challenge you... make this a mission, because your writings are meant to be shared on all platforms.. move over Gentleman Jack and Tipping the velvet, the L word and many others that has tried but not always left me wanting for more...this is true , honest life, raw emotions...it provokes so many feelings and I see it play out in my mind... I can taste it, live it, cry for it, love it...want it...
Anyway... yes my review seems possibly slightly O
TT, but my belief in it is paramount...
Abbey, you are by far my most favourite narrator... you throw my emotions into a spin.. adore you... simple...
I think I have said my peace... then again, I have listened to all your books on here and let me say... they are all worthy...

Rebecca Keane Rocks
Rebecca Keane is as deep and thoughtful as I thought she would be. In fact she’s more, so much more.
I’ve been waiting for this book without even knowing it. It’s technically the 4th book in the Ask, Tell series but EJ Noyes has suggested it be read as book 2 and it definitely should. This book starts a while before the 1st book. It means we get to see Rebecca and Sabine meet. We see how Rebecca felt from the start, and how Sabine acted during her 1st deployment. We get to live through that 1st surgery and 1st flag football game. We get to know what Rebecca thought of all the things Sabine beat herself up over. I love how EJ Noyes gave us more of the scenes I loved most. I loved how those scenes felt brand new because Rebecca is a deep thinker unlike Sabine the over thinker. I couldn’t get enough of Rebecca’s thoughts. How she saw Sabine and Mitch, Sabine and Amy, How the home leave happened. What she was thinking at the scrub sink, during flag football. I l wanted it all, until it came to the incident. God I had to pause it. It suddenly hit me how deeply I was going to feel it all, and my goodness I felt it. EJ Noyes did the most fantastic job of giving us Rebecca’s Turmoil. The surgery scene had me holding my breath, in the aftermath I cried and sniffled. I just wanted to hug her. This book is absolutely brilliant. Yes we know the story, but actually we don’t, just the timeline. Because the events felt by Rebecca are a completely different experience even though they’re the same. So read ‘Ask, Tell’ to find out how Sabine, the over thinker, thinks, and how she thinks Rebecca, the deep thinker thinks. Then Read ‘If I Don’t Ask’ to actually find out how Rebecca, the deep thinker thinks. And how She thinks Sabine, the over thinker, thinks. There’s a lot of thoughts 😂😂. I love that even though these books start in different places in time, they both end in the same spot 😍😍 (with a tiny bit extra)
Abby Craden does the most fantastic job at bringing Rebecca Keane to life. For me this is Abby’s best work. Perfect

Completes the series perfectly!
If I Don’t Ask is the book you never realised you needed! Told from
Rebecca’s point of view this stands alone AND complements Ask Tell. Never repetitive, the story feels fresh and exciting and don’t get me started on the emotion!
Abby Craden’s narration is as sublime as ever, worth the credit for her “darling” alone!!!

Wow!
I couldn’t wait to read this, or rather listen to the fabulous Abby Crayden’s narration after finishing both Ask Tell and Ask Me Again in the last three days.
This is the fourth book in the Ask Tell series and as long as you read, Ask Tell first you can read book four before two and three.
Yes it’s a sapphic love story, but so very much more - exciting, thrilling, heart wrenching and dramatic edge of the seat stuff. There are no adequate words to describe how utterly enthralling I’ve found this series. The last three nights I’ve desperately tried to stay awake, listening on audible well into the early hours and then again very early in the morning as soon as my eyes opened - desperate to know what’s going to happen next, but tortured, knowing I was galloping all too soon to the end of the story.
No detailed review other than to say I’ve totally fallen in love with the main characters, Captain Sabine Fleischer and Colonel Rebecca Keane (especially Rebecca) and this story is Ask Tell told from Rebecca‘s point of view in contrast to Ask Tell which is from Sabine‘s perspective.
No spoilers here, but I couldn’t wait to experience (and I did experience) all the feels of two key events from Bec’s POV and strangely I found myself going back to Ask Tell to compare and relive them all over again. Even as I write this I’m listening to Ask Tell again!
I
Bravo Ms Noyes - more please!
Edit: it’s been only four weeks and I’ve listened to this again but this time in tandem with Ask Tell, switching between the two. I bloody love these - awesome!

Amazing
I’ve listened to Ask two and ask me again at least a couple of times each now, this was a welcomed addition to the series. Brilliantly written and narrated as always. I’ve loved this series so a version from Becs prospective was amazing! Highly recommended!

amazing story
I could not believe when I saw this book was out after listening to Ask, Tell. I was beyond myself, and started listening to it straight away.
It was such a great idea to tell the same story from Rebecca's point of view! I would listen on repeat some scenes over and over again... and Abby's voice! omg

This will always be absolute perfection!
After reading this mindblowingly incredible book for a second time, I can honestly say E.J. Noyes combined with Abby Craden have created a beautiful work of art!
This is 100% my favourite book of the series and I can't recommend highly enough! I think everyone, anyone, regardless of if you are interested in WLW novels should listen to this amazing book. The description, the character arch, the romance, the storyline, the narration, everything, about this book is perfect.
I can honestly say, that this second listen will not be my last!
