Summary
I'm absolutely fine but I slightly need to pee, I followed the road less travelled and now I don't know where the hell I am, I may bleed to death shaving my legs, my soul aches, another week has ended without me becoming accidentally rich, I just put my keys in the fridge, unexpected object in the bagging area, I'll have a café mocha vodka Valium latte to go please, where's my phone? My anxieties have anxieties, no...not like that - here, I'll do it, do I have to do everything? WTF?
Is it just me? We gnaw on that, don't we? Is it just me? Well, look around. Look at the rage, the resolution, the 'hear me roar', the panic, the power, the chin hairs, the shame, the empathy, the conversation, the sheer potential.
Welcome to Midulthood. A place where we recognise that we are all more alike than we are unalike. Of course it's not just you. If we're not in it together, we're not in it at all....
From sex (What Could Possibly Go Wrong) to self-image (Does This Straightjacket Make Me Look Fat?), I'm Absolutely Fine is a wry look at real life, real wisdom and real information framed in fun.

laughed until I wet myself a little 😂 if ever there was an inner monologue of a woman's brain... this. is. it.
Every woman must read this...possibly every man too.

Not as good as the intro promised.
The introduction had me hooked. I felt like I'd be listening to a variety of views and advice and sharing of authentic stuff. But no, it's just a series of lists and memes and has about as much depth as an Instagram feed.

absoloutly fabulous
perfect little giggle and as much as its not a self help book it sort of is at it makes you laugh at all those quirks we think are unique to us but actually we're all doing, thinking and acting in just the same crazy way! did make me buy new underwear because I always put my self bottom of the list but after this and them talking about underwear I did think fu*k it I deserve to feel nice too and occasionally wear a nice matched set of underwear... so it may lead to more spending but its totally worth it!
not one to listen to in the car with the kids though! deffo for a giggle with adult ears only.

a necessity for mid-age women
A laugh loud book because it's so awfully true! More of a characterisation and review of imperfect women more than a manual. So glad I read it

Couldn't stop nodding!
Would be so funny if it weren't so true. Spent most of my time nodding.

Very entertaining and relatable!
This is not a book that will have useful instructions but this is a book that will make you feel like you belong. That all women go through the same things and fight the same battles regardless of our social status and personal circumstances. It's very refreshing to read a book that doesn't tell you to put a smile on your face and keep pushing while falling apart inside. However the best part is that it does that without being patronising and convincing you to compromise on any part of your life. Be strong when you need to and just be you the rest of the time. Not the cheerful or the very best version of yourself but just simply 'you'. Great read that definitely helped to put things in perspective.
