About this listen

Written by 40 of the most notable Jungian psychoanalysts - spanning 11 countries, and boasting decades of study and expertise - Jungian Psychoanalysis represents the pinnacle of Jungian thought. This handbook brings up to date the perspectives in the field of clinically applied analytical psychology, centering on five areas of interest: the fundamental goals of Jungian psychoanalysis, the methods of treatment used in pursuit of these goals, reflections on the analytic process, the training of future analysts, and special issues, such as working with trauma victims, handicapped patients, or children and adolescents, and emergent religious and spiritual issues. Discussing not only the history of Jungian analysis but its present and future applications, this book marks a major contribution to the worldwide study of psychoanalysis.

Full of great information

Wonderful collection of essays with lots of information. Unfortunately the narrator is very robotic/monotone and doesn't help with concentration.

Fascinating subject matter

While the reader was very competent, she was quite obviously unfamiliar with some of the language of psychology she was reading. This meant that the emphasis was sometimes misplaced in the sentence, and I needed to go back and hear it a second time to understand.

Very complicated

I thought this would be a good introduction to Jung’s work, but I was wrong.

The style is quite academic, so it’s a bit of a strain to understand what’s being said. It’s a pity, because I think it should really be a read accessible to a wider audience. The topics are really interesting... but unless you’ve a good grasp of the vocabulary used by psychoanalysts, you’re probably better off reading the book than listening to the audiobook. I kept skipping back.

I really didn’t like the way it was read in a very robotic tone. It really took an effort to listen. Again, such a pity to make a fascinating subject so difficult to grasp.

Bad reader. Good essays if you understand Jung

Only recommend you buy this if you can tolerate the reader who likely doesn’t understand what she is saying as certain words lack emphasis, very robot-like. Dear editor, do not listen to your publisher, read out your own books. Thanks
