About this listen
Two sisters. One brutal murder. A quest for vengeance that will unleash Hell itself....
A new series from the number one New York Times best-selling author of Stalking Jack the Ripper.
Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are streghe - witches who live secretly among humans, avoiding notice and persecution. One night, Vittoria misses dinner service at the family's renowned Sicilian restaurant. Emilia soon finds the body of her beloved twin...desecrated beyond belief.
Devastated, Emilia sets out to find her sister's killer and to seek vengeance at any cost - even if it means using dark magic that's been long forbidden.
Then Emilia meets Wrath, one of the Wicked-princes of Hell she has been warned against in tales since she was a child. Wrath claims to be on Emilia's side, tasked by his master with solving the series of women's murders on the island. But when it comes to the Wicked, nothing is as it seems....

Such a gripping story with so many twists & turns
You think you know where this story is heading, you think it's a straightforward enemies to lovers story but there are so many layers, who done it? is she dead, isn't she dead? He's not that bad... is he?
The story keeps you gripped throughout, the narrator does a brilliant job of presenting the different characters. And onto book 2!

Nice story
A bit much Italian. For you that don’t like mixing of languages it can be annoying in the beginning. Slow burner. But the relationship has a lot of potential. Overall the book was good and I’ll be buying the next one.

Unique story that I have not heard before. Had me hooked from the very beginning. Loved the steady build up.
I loved the characters of this book. I hesitated to listen to a book based on witches but this take was fresh and different and wonderful. I enjoyed it so much and the plot was simply tasty!

A decent mystery, but not great romance.
Unexpectedly rich and detailed and lush in its descriptions. The world building is above par. Characters interesting. The hunt for the killer complex but becomes convoluted and unbelievable once you mix in the sub par and totally predictable romance. What would have been an amazing book becomes cringeworthy YA drivel. Unless the main love interest dies in the next book I'm not buying.
The performance was good but if you start out as excited and shouty and fast, where do you have to go when the chase scene starts?

As a lover of all things witchy, magical and dark, this book is a perfect masterpiece for me, I loved the stalking jack the ripper series so I had high hopes for this, but it was even better than I had expected. amazingly dark and magical! Just brilliant.

Petulant, childish Heroine
Good story, marred by the constant childish antics of the protagonist heroine, constantly coming to the wrong conclusion, threatening others of far superior power and having a grandiose opinion of herself that just smacked of petulance and childishness. Shame really, if she'd have been written as a more based character, the story would have been elevated to another level.
