Just brilliant again.
One of my favourites books along with The Snowman (the book NOT the shocking movie). I thought I had it, I thought I had it all worked out and then the twist came from left field and I relished how perfect it was - I wasn’t close, not even in the same field. I love, love the exquisitely detailed narrative that is pure Nesbo. And only Sean Barrett - there can never be another narrator.

good story; great narrator
I am generally a fan of Scandi noire and so decided to give Nesbo a try. Having another alcoholic police detective is getting a bit wearing, but there you go. The narrator made the arch villain truly terrifying in an understated soft voice. SPOILER ALERT: Cannot believe any one could survive in May river water in Norway. When I sailed in Seattle, our captain warned we had 6 minutes if anyone went overboard. In all I would say an average crime book, but very well delivered.

Another great book!
By book 12 of a series, you might expect the characters or storylines to be getting a bit stale; not so with 'Knife'. Jo Nesbo continues to thrill and surprise and to make us want more.
A fabulous reading, as ever, from the magnificent Sean Barrett for which I am eternally grateful. As a mum of two small children, running my own business, studying for a degree and doing up our home, I rarely get a cup of tea whilst it's hot, never mind find the time to read! Thanks to Audible, I can still enjoy my favourite authors and Mr Barrett is by far my favourite reader.
I am genuinely invested in the characters and look forward to hearing the next installment.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Nesbo thankfully plays fewer tricks on the reader than in Police but keeps it twisty and complex. My dad says this is the best book of the whole series, I’d be close to agreeing. Sean Barrett is superb as ever.

This is time it is really personal ! And that is why the story flows differently. It takes quite a lot of pages to get the best out of Harry’s detective mind, but last 3 hours are breathtaking ! During my runs listening to this book I laughed, screamed and cried. U R welcomed to do the same...

Harry (or Jo Nesbo ') runs out of steam..
An unduly complex and rarely convincing additional chapter of Harry's investigative and personal life (the two plans are so intersperced that one cannot loger separate them). There is very little (other than the usual self-loathing) driving the main character and Nesbo needs to up the ante to give momentum to his work by making people very close to Harry victims of the crimes that Harry will eventually investigate. Lots of personal drama, but lack of fluidity in the plot and clarity in the narrative.
All in all, a major disappointment for an old fan of Harry Hole like me.
