If you want to discover how to recover and flourish from the toxic workplace, then keep reading.

“Burnout is what happens when you try to avoid being human for too long.” (Michael Gungor, American singer-songwriter, producer, music editor, author, and podcast host)

You wake up tired to a blaring alarm, forcing yourself through your morning routine, feeling like you’re just going through the motions. As you get ready for work, your anxiety builds, dreading the thought of facing your toxic boss and an overwhelming workload.

At work, you struggle to focus on tasks and feel easily distracted. The weight of the day and anxiety build, and you worry about your performance and the judgment of your toxic boss and colleagues.

It’s hard to shake the feeling of inadequacy that seems to hang over you like a cloud. You know that you’re capable of doing great work, but right now, you just can’t seem to make your brain cooperate. It’s like you’re fighting an uphill battle, and you’re not sure how much longer you can keep it up.

Don’t wait too long to take action. Burnout is a serious issue, and it can have long-lasting effects on your health and well-being.

In this book, you will discover:

  • The secret to doing what you love once again
  • Why you aren’t thriving in life and sacrificing your health
  • The three steps to flourishing past burnout
  • The biggest mistakes people make with burnout

Beyond the surface

I like that this book doesn't just scratch the surface of burnout; it delves deep into its roots. It explains why burnout happens, why so many people find themselves sacrificing their health and well-being for their work, and, most importantly, how to break free from this destructive cycle.

A kind companion during challenging times

The way it was written felt like it understood exactly what I was going through. It's not just a typical self-help guide; it's more like a friend who's there to say, "I get it," while guiding you on a personal journey to healing.

Each chapter was a gentle push in the right direction, a reminder that taking control of your life is possible even after burnout. What really struck a chord with me were the three steps for moving beyond burnout. It wasn't overwhelming or preachy; it felt relatable and filled with empathy, which was really comforting.

It explains the different reasons why people experience burnout and what signs to look out for. The author also gives you tools and exercises to help you figure out what might be causing your own burnout and how to deal with it.

One of the best things about this book is that it doesn't just focus on what to do when you're already burnt out. It actually helps you prevent it from happening in the first place. There are lots of tips for managing your time better, reducing stress, and taking care of yourself.

Overall, "Managing Workplace Burnout" is a great book for anyone who wants to feel better and do better at work. The author is really understanding and gives you practical advice that you can use.

Masterpiece to manage workplace burnout!!

This is an incredibly insightful book by Glenn Howell that addresses the prevalent issue of burnout in toxic work environments. In Chapter 2, titled "Is it Them or You?" the book delves into the crucial aspect of self-reflection and personal responsibility in the face of workplace burnout. This chapter resonated with me because I've experienced moments of burnout in my career and had often attributed it solely to external factors. The book made me realize the importance of self-awareness and understanding how my own actions and reactions can contribute to burnout. It was a transformative insight that empowered me to take more control over my well-being.

The narration of the book was exceptional. The narrator's voice was clear and engaging, making it easy to absorb the valuable information and guidance provided in each step. Overall, it is a must-listen for anyone looking to not only overcome burnout but also thrive in their professional life.
