Summary

Moorings is the third in a chilling series of books which will rapidly convert followers of L. J. Ross, Faith Martin, Joy Ellis and Helen H. Durrant into David Blake devotees.

When Harry Falcon, a wealthy boatyard owner and decorated World War Two veteran, is found drowned in his bath, DI John Tanner and DC Jenny Evans start by questioning his two sons, each with a motive for wanting him dead. But when the elder son is found with his head smashed in under a toppled yacht, and the younger son has been talking to a local property developer, one who’d spent months trying to buy the yard from his father, the investigation soon leads them towards a dark and dangerous secret, one which nobody can quite believe. Set within the Norfolk Broads, this fast-paced British detective series is a murder mystery that will have you guessing until the very end, when the last shocking twist is finally revealed.

This series is beginning to drift..

Still great narration, plot getting silly with one too many coincidences and main characters melting into cliches.
Sexist Detective Tanner's thinking seems to go back a decade with each book whilst sidekick Jen alternates between acerbic, capable crime fighter and timid mute.
Having said that, I'm still listening. I think Keeble the narrator has hypnotised me..

I quite liked the earlier books in the series, but

... Something has definitely gone awry with this. Let's have more believable female characters, please.

Gripping

Another gripping tale which kept the listener glued to the story, read easily and excellently as only Jonathan Keeble can. Many thanks to you both.

Not the best of his Books

This series is very good so I've come to expect perfection. This story here seems a little disconnected and the characters, other than the usual ones, incomplete and sketchy.
The narrator is good but most of his women have voices that sound sentimental and vulnerable, even when they are strong characters.

Excellent listening as per usual

Again enjoying the series of books from this author whom I've only just come across. Love the chemistry between Tanner and Jenny. Great characters. Great story lines. Love the humour, proper laugh out load conversation between colleagues, which I can only imagine happens in real life scenarios. Also the ability to describe the criminal underworld and the crimes committed and their downfall. Excellent choice of narrator too, really brings the books to life, and his portrayal of each character is brilliant. Looking forward to read the next one in the series.

I sure hope Audible keeps this series going ASAP!! It’s one of the best I’ve listened to having over 225 books in my library!! The author is such a humerus writer and the narrator is excellent!! I laugh out loud with the banter between John and his girl whose name slips my mind at this time:( I already purchased the next next book and can’t wait for it to be released!! Excellent Excellent Excellent!!

Great series and narration..

Another good murder-mystery ‘starring’ John Tanner and Jenny Evans. This time it was about the murders of a father and his 2 sons then the discovery of a lot of murdered young women, including Tanner’s daughter, a year before. It was a very exciting story.

The only romance was of Tanner and Jenny living together but there wasn’t even a kiss shared between them and the F-bomb was used 15 times.

As to the narration: LOVE Jonathan Keeble! He’s an awesome narrator.
