Summary

A passenger plane explodes. Eighty-three people die. One man is responsible.

When a routine operation ends in tragedy, decorated ex-Royal Marine Ryan Kaine becomes the target of a nationwide manhunt. The police want him on terrorism charges. A sinister organization wants him dead.

Kaine is forced to rely on two women he hardly knows: one, a country vet who treats his wounds, the other an IT expert with a secret of her own.

Battling overwhelming guilt, life-threatening injuries, and his own moral code, Kaine hunts the people who turned him into a mass murderer.

Can Kaine's combat skills, instincts, and new-found allies lead him to the truth and redemption?

Entertaining romp

Pretty straight forward action listen. UK based, good narration. Does what it says on the lid.

voice Iver spoilt this otherwise good story

Citroen pronounced sit-ron. NOT SITROW-WHEN for starters. must have been said 90ish times and one of several awful pronounciations. The right voice over is key with audiobooks. story is good and interesting, worth a listen? probably a better read.

Good Story, poor narrator!

Narrator lets the book down massively, really off putting with over pronunciation of words and trying different characters voices. Won’t be moving to second book.

Great story. Needs a better actor

This story and characters are excellent. Intelligent and brutal story telling. I feel it needs a better voice actor. I found him very stilted and the variation in character wasn’t contrasting enough. This is of course just personal opinion.

Great story

Fast moving, like the UK base. Narrator was a bit dodgy at times with the characters & accents but a few to master in his defence.

No Jack Reacher

it's ok, a very predictable story, and the narrator has some peculiar pronunciations. I won't bother getting the second one.

Excellent

I really liked this story, the only reason I gave it 4 for performance is because if the wierd, affected way the narrator pronounces certain things. Clearly this is meant to be a British Jack Reacher and it does excel at that, using less common locations etc and that is all truly excellent but I just can't get past the way he pronounced Citroën and the one time use of an a pauling northern accent!

These annoyances aside this was an excellent read/listen.
