Summary

Perfectionism is a character or personality trait that causes life to feel like a never-ending report card. A perfectionist feels as if they are being forever graded on their accomplishments, appearance, organization, and just about everything else.

This audiobook explores the ways in which perfection can have positive and motivational impacts, like providing the drive to overcome adversity or achieve certain goals. However, it can often become difficult to manage and lead to unhealthy outcomes that can translate quickly into anxiety, relationship challenges, daily struggles, and overall unhappiness.

You’ll learn how to identify perfectionistic tendencies and their triggers as well as how to build self-acceptance and self-esteem. Learning to cope with and manage perfectionism can lead to better relationships with family, coworkers, and most importantly, with yourself.

Case studies, professional advice, practical tips, chapter recaps, and several easy-to-follow mini-lessons are included in order to make this an audiobook that listeners will use as a reference tool for many years to come.

I'm so happy I found this book

This is a very well written audiobook and i love the fact you can tell the author took the time to make a research about the topic as well as mixing her research with real life experience, this is something i really appreciate. I can't lie, I have suffered with perfectionism for the longest time and it’s something that has really been eating away at me as It’s held me back so many times, I'm also an over analyzer and they go hand in hand. Finding this audiobook was amazing and so insightful it provided a practical way to mitigate my bad thought loops. . This book helps not only to understand how perfectionism affects people's lives and talks about how it can become unhealthy,I love how this audiobook also give you a direct tactic which you can use in order to identify if you yourself are truly a perfectionist..So if you think you’re perfectionist or know someone who is, this book is a great resource and tremendous help.

Great for my daughter & I!

As a perfectionist, I quickly noticed my daughter's tendencies to follow in my footsteps. Perfectionism can be both a positive and negative attribute. However, I love how this book addresses perfectionism, the in's and out's of it, how to handle it positively and most importantly gain a greater understanding about it. Would certainly recommend this!

Insightful and educational

I have always strived to be the best at anything I do.. I’m not sure I would call myself a perfectionist, but I do struggle with some of the traits a perfectionist has. This book is very insightful, teaches the positive and negative impacts being a perfectionist can have. I feel like I have learnt some valuable information about myself which I was not aware of before. Will be listening to it again and continue to work on myself. I recommend this book

Worth the listen.

A practical, up to date overview & understanding of the struggle perfectionism can present.
I wasn’t sure at first how helpful I would find it, but it really grew on me, with some well presented insights.
Definitely worth the listen, especially helpful if you’re pushed for time. It sums up a lot in a short time.
